(like 20MB!! each!) but they're in .prn format.. --"print to file"-- and i was wondering if theres anyway to get the picture back from it? any idea?..

You might be able to load the .prn files into Adobe Distiller and then print them to a PDF file?? Just a hunch though..... 
Try Ghostscript. It is a free utility for creating PDFs. I have not tried it, but a friend has and says it works well.
