Here's the problem: Anywhere there is text or images there are dark lines that go all the way across the screen horizontally. It looks incredibly ugly and I have no clue how to fix it. I tried reinstalling monitor driver and graphics card driver and neither helped the situation. The monitor is a KDS RAD-7C and the graphics card is a NVIDIA Riva TNT2 Model 64.

have you tried the monitor on another computer? maybe it's a problem with the monitor.
the monitor works fine on another computer. I searched google and found at opic where this was discussed and the person had the same problem with a different monitor, but the same graphics card, so I am guessing it is the card. Unfortunately, there was no solution on the website.
when did this start happening? do you know what caused it?
what happens when no drivers are installed? do you still have the problem?
I uninstalled both drivers, booted up, reinstalled them, and nothing changed. I tried changing the refresh rate and that didn't help either. The monitor is not that old at all. maybe one year?

ok, so, now we know it's not the monitor, and it's not the drivers (for sure). it's probably the card. is the fan spinning? is the card hot?
This is not my computer, it is a friend's and I am visiting them right now. I'll have to open up the computer when I get back from going out to eat. everything sounds normal, but I'm not too good with hardware.
