Stickies is one of the most simple and most useful pieces of software that ships with MacOS. There are many Windows equivalents, but most of them cost money and/or have horribly ugly user interfaces. I decided to write my own, simple version and give it out for free so that Windows users could have a decent Stickies alternative.

I've only tested the lite version of Post-It Software, but that version is really good already. It doesn't have transparencies though.
I want a 'skicky' program that just puts strips of grey duct tape on the desktop, with notes that look like they are written with a sharpie marker. And over time, they peel off and get all gross. The "Aqua" version would have gel pens instead of sharpie marker. ...and better duct tape.

By the way, you can use "/new" as aregument if you put Stickies in your Y'z Dock. It will open a new note each time you click on the dock icon, but...there's a little problem with it, try it and you'll see.
Can anyone find a way to fix this? :rant:

I got a program here awhile back that was made for "Stickies for windows" dont know why there is not a link on thier site for it if someone has a place to upload it let me know it works great even if stickies isnt running it will start it up and give you a new sticky not. I use it in the dock and kkmenu.

it has all the features you want and it is skinable. (i made a skin for it "my skin let you have it trasparent so if you choose a color all the stiky will be the same color without that ugly top") i posted it somewhere here.
it is the best so far (Only my point of view)

OneNote is to stickies like a manufacturing plant is to a pen and paper.
With one, you make small notes. With the other, you make small notes, lecture notes, meeting notes, synchronised OLE notes, Outlook-integrated task notes, and god knows what else 
Don't compare applications unless you understand the intentions of both.
I'm still using the trusty Stickies app, upgraded to 4.5B last week!

If you have the app changing colors automatically upon creation, let me in on how to do it. I must have missed something... unless you're joking. Then shame on you.
