Internet Tweaks

Hey guys,

Curious is anyone has come across any mtu tweaks, or internet tweaks in general for panther.

On my p4 i installed a reg tweak that upped my download speed greatly, just curious if there is anything like that for the mac.

Wookie, go to pcpistop.com, run their tests and under the internet section there are options to look through. There used to be a link to speedguide.net or something like that, but it inst there anymore

edit, wookie try here, these are patches, i used one of them and it helped greatly

fyi, found a little app called rmac, that seems to work pretty decently. Only problem is that it restores default tcp, mtu, etc on startup, but comeon, how often do we really need to restart our macs

yeah it did, go to pcpitstop.com and run the internet download test, first my speed was 1000 kb, after the little app was applied, it went up to 2500 or so. the max that I have gotten is 3500 on my pc, this is on a cable connection

Found this site, installed the broadband optimizer and WOOOW!! what a change! things load noticeable faster!!! interesting other software they have there as well, im going to give it a go.
