Aqua-Soft ForumsGuys, I know this has been brought up before. But, I can't find it in the forums. So please help me out here. I just want to replace the titlebar icon for internet explorer. I would like to change it to the "link spring" icon instead of the boring ie web page icon. This is what ie for mac has anyways. Is it shell32.dll?

yes it is indeed the shell32.dll. if you use ICeman's shell32.dll and the "link spring" does not show, that means the file has been altered. replace your current shell32.dll with a "fresh" one. assuming you are using windows xp with SP1 installed, download the dll file here. otherwise for non-sp1, download it here.

Wow, thanks dev null. Actually, I meant the @ sign that they use. Not the link spring. I dont know why I said that. But thanks for the links. Are you sure it is ok to use these foreign dll files on my computer though. Well, it doesn't matter. I'll just save my original one, and try this one. Thanks.

Yes, it is safe to use "foreign" dlls AS LONG AS they are implemented and installed correctly. Since the use of Iceman's dll files, i have no problem at all with my system. it even looks much "aquatic". before replacing any dll files, you might want to read the how-to guide from Icemanhere, which is very3X important. make sure you read it over and over again so you won't have problems later.
ps: one hint i want to share, everytime you modify a dll file, instead of replacing the old one, simply renaming the old one's extension to something else that Windows does not recognize. this step is continual, yes you might have several of the same dll files with different extensions wasting hdd space, but the guarantee that in the event of something goes south, you know that you have "backups" you can choose from.
