Aqua-Soft ForumsI have quite a few icons in png and ico formats. When i open the ico formats in Microangelo i see different formats i.e. 32*32, 48*48 etc. Some of them are 256 colors and others are just 'Windows XP'. I am not able to use them as my icons. When i try and select these icons, it tells me 'No icon found in resource'. How do i use these icons ? Also how do i convert the png to icons? What is the default dimension for the icons if i have to use them? I am also using IconPackager.

You Can not use them because windows 2k does not support something called: Alpha Blending which is just a fancy name for transparency. So in other words you can't use the .ico's you find on this site for your icons.
As for changing PNGs into ICO's you can use Photoshop, Icon Workshop and oh damn it guys help me out here please.

1. How do i tag a post? Should i just prefix my post title with that?
2. Is there any program out there using whcih i can use Alpha blending on Win2k. I am using Windowsblinds also..if that helps ..

1. Just type where you put in the title in from of the title; [help] , [question] , [tutorial] , [release] , [announcement] , [debate] and there are a few others that are well know
2. No, It is impoossible. If you want Alpha blending, upgrade to WinXP.

2. Not that i know of, not in explorer anyhow. You could get a shell, such as talisman or desktopX, and use alphablended PNGs on your desktop.
Ok. So I just cannot use the alpha blending on Win2K without using some shell. Can i convert these icons and pngs to use them as simple icos on Win2K. What are the dimaneions that i convert them to and what colors to use? Microangelo says that i can display icons in 16 million colors.
