I Need Album Art

Hey there. I am currently in the process of mixing a new album. It will be a techno-ish album, not one of my guitar songs. I have been mixing Techno tracks for quite some time now, starting in 2001 when my dad found me an old copy of Acid. I even put together an album back then, but it reeked of inexperience- the album as a whole was disjointed, and many of the songs did not go together. There are a couple of tracks that I am still proud of today, but for the most part, it was a learning experience.

Now here I am three years later, with much more experience and an ear for what is and isn't a good beat, good combo, etc. I am going to put out a second album, and I need cover art. Anyone can submit a design, and pretty much anything goes. I'm not looking for anything in particular, just whatever catches my eye. Also, no need to rush if you're going to design a cover- the album won't be ready for at least a couple of months.

All I ask is that both my name and the CD title appear on the cover, which should be the size of a real CD cover (12cm x 12cm). I haven't chosen a title for the CD yet, so you can use placeholder text for that if you like. My name is Adam Potts.

Thanks for any help, and of course, you get your art embedded in the MP3 files, as well as personal thanks in the ID3 tags if I choose your entry.

Why dont you post a track, so we get a feel for what it will be like, cause theres a huge range of techno from hardcore, to bubblegum.

Well it sounds good, but why techno. Atleast do some trance, or drum n bass, jungle or ragga. that sounds more like ambient tech. good melody. lets here some hardcore ragga tip "mr. hankey" next time

WOW! I am very impressed, i wouldnt even call this techno, as it is a perfect blend of everything it needs to be. ok ok, I know this isnt a thread about critiquing godpunks work, but WOW.

Anyway on to the point, i designed a cd front to back for a freind of mine a a few years ago. I'm just curious what printing firm you are using to do this. I wouldnt mind throwing in a few ideas for the layout and design of the cd, but im not sure exactly what you are looking for.

Feel free to to PM me some of the detail, or throw them out in here.

As a photographer, I like to work in that medium as much as possible, If you were looking for more illustration type stuff, then let me know.

I am not using any printing firm to print these. I am distributing the album digitally as a free download, and if anyone wants to make a donation to me for the album, that's great, but if not, that's fine too.

My plan is to embed the album art in the file, as well as put the a .jpg of the album art in the zip file, in case anyone feels like printing out the cover on their own.

BTW, thanks for the positive feedback. It's good to know I'm heading in the right direction with the music.

I called this song techno because I didn't know what else to call it. Ambient maybe, Trip-hop maybe, but I dunno. It's hard for me to classify what I make, I just make what I think sounds good.

Peter, I absolutely LOVE the two things at DevArt that you linked to. Both are great, but I especially like "She Smiles"! Something similar to it would be great!
