Yz Dock Screwing With Video Playback?

hey.

anybody but me having problem with playing video files while yzdock is running?

its so bad that i have to use another dock :-/ even though i dont like the other ones...

the picture just gets black... sometimes if its in just the window or sometimes when i put it in fullscreen mode. really wierd problem, but very bad if you watch alot of movies on your computer.

and if anybody has problems do you know how to fix it?

i haven't had that problem while watching videos, but i do know that it can interfere with fullscreen games and videos. you should close y'z dock if it's causing you problems. you can even write up batch files if you want to do that. if you need help, i can teach you some simple commands.

i'm wondering if there are other solutions, though. maybe try changing some display or video settings and see if that helps.

i dont know what batch files are actually. :-/

ive had the same problem since when i first tried yzdock, same problem every time.

its not just a fluke since its the same problem after a total reinstall of xp.

is it some directX setting maybe?

yeah, i know it's not a fluke. it's a common complaint with y'z dock. which version are you using?

which dx are you using? go to run > dxdiag and see if everything is enabled and ok.

batch files are little scripts that are easy to create. you can type them in the command prompt or the run dialog and have your computer execute certain commands:

e.g. type "close" and then have y'z dock close, or you can write one up so that when you load the movie, it automatically closes y'z dock, etc.

Also which player are you using? I had trouble with certain media players but not others.

im using Media player classic, Zoom player and Powerdvd.

same problem with all of them.

i download alot of video files and open files alot randomly so a batch fle would just be anoying since yzdock would be closing and starting all the time basicly. :-/

the directx diagnostic said everyting was ok.

ll probably just go back to mobydock. been trying objectdock for a couple of days now. its too jumpy though and looks crappier.

i have noticed that bringing the dock (Y'Zdock) to activity (hovering over it while it was set to autohide) while playing a video, it would make the movie skip and pause momentarily until the dock was hidden again... pretty normal since they are using the same processing unit to do their job.

#109469

what about if you auto-hide y'z dock? will it still interfere?

#109535

screw it, ill just use mobydock instead.

too bad really, yzdock is the best.

all right. too bad we couldn't help you.
