Xapp Technology Preview #1

Hey people,

I've just finished the first step on a engine to use the iApp style from Apple's iTunes, iCalc, etc. without any other ActiveX control on my upcoming apps (wich are called "xApps"). The first xApp that'll use this engine is the clone of the OS X Adress Book. If you want to take a look on it, please download the following small application:

Nice...I like it. This could very well give Jef's AquaControls a run for it's money. Just one small thing I noticed about it is that it doesn't get shadowed using WindowFX2...I think that is an important feature to add.

Anyway this is great and I'm really looking forward to seeing the apps. If you need a beta-tester let me know. I do have some programming knowledge too so if you need some help let me know b'coz this seems to be C++ and not VB..

This is great. :D So many possiblilities. :)

Thank you!

Cheers.

N.b. I'm pretty sure it's Vb. :)

All done in pure VB6 with help of the Win32 API. In the next step I'm going to implement is the feature to resize those aplications smooth.

very nice work. really fast, just could not move the test window around on the screen. Is that intentional?

#8943

Try clicking on the title of the window and then holding the left mouse button down.

I can change it with 1 line of code so that you can click everywhere in the form and move the window by holding the left mouse button down...

yeah, that worked Cassiel, but only when the mouse pointer was on the title text...not the rest of the title bar. is that odd ?

Some nice updates: Min/Max/Close buttons fully working. Skinnable button created with following states: Normal, Hover, Pressed, Focused & Disabled.

Enjoy,

I dont see any difference :( All I get is a window with text and 3 caption buttons. Or is that all it's supposed to have?.

Looks great so far though

Yeah me too, it looks pretty real!

i cant wait till some coders use this in their apps!

also i tried to use my dock (object dock) and it was laggy when i had iApp turned on, so u know :)

Argh - I forgot to upload the new one.

Just download again, please ..

Btw: The engine's not supposed to be available to other coders nore they'll be open source. Because I don't like ActiveX controls I included them as modules in my current work - that's why I don't release the code or such an DLL/ActiveX. Sorry ...

So long,

Cassiel

awesome job cassiel, cant wait to see some apps using this..

Can't wait to see what you've done so far. Unfortunately my PC died (I'm on my Mac right now). Keep up the work. The more Aqua stuff the better!
