gSpot is litte application to activate the screensaver if the cursor moves onto one of the screen corners wich are called "hotspots". You can configure which hotspot will be used and how long the cursor must stay there until the screensaver will be activated.

Hit the gspot to turn on the screensaver.

much better then iSpot. Mind you I wont use it, but the name makes it all worth it.

I set the app turn on the screensaver after 1 second of mousing over the right-hand side of the screen...

nothing happens.

Same thing for the other three sides of the screen.

The tray icon shows that the app is loaded, but doesn't do anything.

@sketching: sorry but in .ini and readme.txt files was litte mistake. There should be:

[POSITION]

; 0 - top-right, 1 - bottom-right, 2 - bottom-left, 3 - top-left

You must move your mouse to one of this coners not to screen edge.

Correct files are on my server now.

There is already an app that does the exact same thing as this. It works just fine on my computer. xHotspot is what it was called.

Yes, but that doesn't work in my computer, I use saverstarter, but this is very good too, thank you GAngel!!

Yes that's right it's xHotspot but this app is no more supported. New ppl on this forum can't download it and use it. That's why i wrote gSpot.

is it possible to add it to IEx from SIWU cause i realy love the features of Expose on macosx that allow you to select the focused windows from thumbs, reduce all, start the screen saver and "don't allow screen saver to run!!!"

i would like an application that make evrything in only ONE app cause running IEx and Gspot... it's a bit like having a mouse to move the cursor and another to scroll!!

Anyway this is a nice APP, i already had suggest this featur to SIWU but the developpement seems to be stoped for the momment, if you want to continue this app maybe can you implement the don't allow screen saver to run on moving the mouse in another hotspot

Hmmm... I don't think so. It's one big difference between our apps:

siwu uses MFC (I think) and I - WINAPI.

One of us should rewrite app from scratch and it won't be me , I don't like MFC

i hope Siwu or someone else will developp a more complete application about all this stuff cause it's very usefull on a laptop to launch the screensaver and when you're reading, not to allow it to launch (is that english??? )

maybe you could make it, just the function that doesn't allow the screen saver to launch?? :shy: :shy:

another question: i got a laptop and i know that what use a lot of resources (on the battery i mean) is the backlight of the screen and in Windows there is an option to shut down the screen after Xminutes of inactivity, is it possible to make a programm that turn off the backlight?? like you made for the screensaver.
