OK...we're gonna get through this. Breathe in, Breathe out...

Uninstall anything you may have installed. Then, redownload everything. Install Visual Basic 6 (or whatever it is) again, and then reinstall the address book. Keep the manifest file, but set compatibility for windows 2000. Try that. I got the same error noise and it was fixed if I kept the manifest but set compatibility.

I too am having a problem. I can get address book to run, but the window is truncated. I cannot get the whole window to display. I am running Windows XP. I have follwed all instructions carefully. I have deleted everything, re-downloaded both VB and address book, reinstalled both, and deleted the manifest file. But I do not know where to change compatibility mode.

Any advice?

Cheers

Right clicking on the EXE -> Properties and go to the Compatability tab.

I don't think this could be a problem, but are you running a non-English version of Windows XP? This shouldn't be the problem, but just a precaution.

nightcrawler1089 - The same thing is happening to me. I am running it on my desktop and on my new laptop. The desktop version runs perfectly. The laptop version is truncated. I have now chnaged to Windows 200 compatibility mode, with no success. I am running an English US keyboard and program. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Cheers.

That's too bad that Jib no longer hangs out here. As for Duckie, I worship him. I know that Aqua skinning would be nothing without duckie. (Duckie- where'd you get your name from?) I was just kidding around.

Rooskee- Have you done anything? Like, any apps or icons? Do you have a website? I'd like to check them out.

Anyway... I guess I'll just give up on this address book. Neither Roots or this worked. Both display problems it seemed. I don't really need a separate address book- the one that came with Thunderbird is just fine (and it looks even better once you apply an Aqua skin- just got the beta version of what Proteo did; see http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/index.php?act=ST&f=8&t=13387).

Thanks!

P.S: I hope I didn't really make anyone too mad over Duckie going postal. Please accept my apologies.
