Goku
youre right, its not a question of agreeing or not. I would understand a lil more if Feat was just another member who gives those invalid facts and argues against the creator of this very app. No worries though (Y) you got my point. Link to comment
FeAt
Hi boys, Goku and Steve... Both of you has true. BUT I writing this application in my free time and I don't want to that you, my friend, argueing about this appl and me. I know, this is not "perfect" from coding aspect (it has a lot of routines and techniques which can be better but I hate M$ way :moon:, they has a lot of features what exists two or more occurrance... I hate this, and I using that what I find firstly.) Sorry Steve I have to say this, and in the future, I would like to rewrite this application (for smaller and faster) maybe not in C#... :who's your daddy: And I think 20-25MB of RAM usage is not (NOT) so much today, but you guys has true, it can be smaller. (~10MB or ~12 MB) ....in the nearest future.... Have a nice weekend Link to comment

(~10MB or ~12 MB) ....in the nearest future.... [...] I can understand that you write it in your free time, and I know the feeling - like I said to Goku - I just tend to get a little overzealous when people say things like ".Net is the reason my app uses too much memory", and for that, I'm sorry. At the end of the day, it's your application, so you should code it how you see fit - I'm not trying to stop you doing that. All I say is this: don't dismiss C# as being slow and memory intensive until you really get to know it (by this, I'm not trying to say that you don't know C# very well - I'm just saying that, unless you know lots of little "tweaks", you'll never get the most out of C#). I can also completely relate to your gripes with Microsoft - I often find that their help systems are too "over the top" about simple things, but don't go into enough depth about advanced things. Also, if you want to move away from C# in your rewrite, that's up to you - at the end of the day, you're the person coding this app. I just think it's a shame that you should move away from what truly is a great programming language (even Contra agrees with me on this!). If you do decide that you want to take another look at C#, though, don't hesitate to contact me. With regards to the memory usage - I don't care about 20-25Mb... When you spend your working life developing an app that averages 400Mb memory usage on one CPU of the web application server (which has four CPUs in each of the three machines, serving ~1Million hits a day, hence the memory usage), 25Mb is easy to ignore And yes, that's a managed C#/ASP.Net application, and it's had every last ounce of performance tweaked out of it. We've actually scientifically and mathematically proven that the only way to speed up the code is to put in faster CPUs. I meant speed up the code without losing functionality. Link to comment
skyliner34
How do I make it to show my open folders?ThanksSky Link to comment
FeAt
to Skyliner: Corrently no way... This problem is the same of IE problem.. Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer "opens" windows in the same processes and Switcher can not decide "windows". In the next version I'll solve this problem. Belive in me. Thanx Link to comment
AndreasV
Feat: What is wrong with the EnumWindows() API? Link to comment
FeAt
AndreasV:Nothing, just not used at this moment.(Only the Processes object)In the next version I'll use enumWindows() API too. Link to comment
AndreasV
Processes object That would be something VB-specific I guess? Just try to search on MSDN or the WIN32 SDK, because it is much more powerfull Link to comment

FeAt
to IngeneerMind:I think you wrote the full file name into the applicationsList.ini fileWrite ONLY the EXE's name without any path information:Adobe Photoshop;Photoshop.exe;PS7.png...and the end of a file in the [Exclusion] section too:[Exclusion]ObjectBar.exeObjectDock.exeI hope it`s help for you to customize your Switcher.P.S.: If you try to use image file in applicationsList.ini what is NOT in your \Images folder... Switcher will freeze like as you saw. Link to comment

TwiceBlessed
Well, an interesting application . However, for the time being it lacks some functionality. I didn't have much time to throughly test it but from what I've seen so far there could be a space for the proposals listed below: --------------------------------------------- [Feature Request] ----------------------------------------- 1.) Fixed amount of items shown at the same time (e.g. 4 items) or more optional variant to manually set the quantity of items listed in Switcher. I think it is much better than seeing a lot of tasks floating around. The hidden tasks could be indicated with an arrows at the both sides of switcher and as you progress through your switcher bar you will see all of them eventually. 2.) It has been told already but nevertheless I will mention it again. Maybe there could be an option for a different Switcher background (for example: black, grey, quicksilver etc.). In addition there is one more thing concerning program appearance. I'm not sure about other users but on my screen the rounded edges seem to be not smooth enough with some kind of notches. Is there any workaround for this issue? 3.) Key combination Alt+Shift+Tab is not implemented though it is available in the original windows switcher. 4.) Is it possible to implement an .ico format support and and option to select the transparency level? 5.) The resizeable Switcher. Seems that it is already in development. 6.) When Alt+Tab is pressed and held on for a certain amount of seconds the program stays on top without holding main button sequence (you can still browse through it by pressing Tab only) and disappeare when Alt button is activated again. ------------------------------------------ [Changes & Bug Fixing] ------------------------------------ 7.) When the main sequence of buttons is pressed (Alt+Tab) the program appears blinking for a few seconds making the process look choppy. This thing is very important to be fixed cause it disturbs the user all the time at least it is so in my case . 8.) And of course smaller recources consumption would be great. Seems to be all for the moment. Keep up a good work, TwiceBlessed Link to comment
smoke
I think it should shrink depending on how many icons are in it.I would like to see icon support in it like Y'z dock has where it can display the highest size from an .exe and display it high quality. Link to comment
