btb42693
That is true. Bobah has not included the option to put it anywhere else on the screen yet. The question has been asked before, and hopefully if people continue to support the program with some donations, the development may be able to continue Link to comment
emey87
I tried to put the dock on the top changing the option "space between dock and screen" but has a limit of 100 pixels, so, I tried on the settings.xml file, changing tha value of "<paneloffset>0</paneloffset>" to the value I needed to put it in the top, however, when I start xWindows dock, the value returns to 100; exists any way to put this offset to a higher value??? that will enable put the dock in the top of the screen instead of the bottom. THANKS Link to comment
AndrewYY
The window handle for the dock is "XWindows Dock"You can write a script that will move it. However, it's not going to look good, and it's not going to work well, and it's not permanent, so I'd say it's not worth the hassle. Link to comment

Biomech
Hello all,I've recently updated to Vista, and XWD is having problems. I've set it to run on startup, and even though the process is in the task manager, the actual dock never shows up on startup. So I resort to reopening the program every single time, which is a hassle.Any ideas what the issue may be?Thanks for any help! Link to comment
reenan
I'm having a freaking problem. I've installed XAccuWheater, but it ALWAYS ask me for setup location. I've already configured my location more than 3 times, and it don't save. Whats wrong? :/I'm using Windows XP SP3, and I have AVG Internet Security, but already allowed it on firewall. btb42693
@biomech, This is a known problem. I have problems with it myself as do many other people on this forum. This is usually a problem when there are a lot of other startup items that launch with the dock. One thing that might help is to delay some startup programs and allow the dock to be the first to load. @Reenan, There is another weather docklet program you can use, located on the docklets page. If you have issues with this one, use another one. I use the other one and it works just fine Link to comment
vladimir0523
This is very nice dock, however I really don't like how the program icons are looking in the stack. They are too much blurred for my taste so I wander is it possible to tune that a bit?! I was noticed also that xwindow doesn't showing custom icons on shortcuts, but only default and from some reason certain programs even won't to run at all when I click on shortcut from the stuck but they work properly when I run them from the opened window... Any ideas how what's going on here? Also I see now that dock freezing option when stack is opened is actually very smart solution which rocket dock haves. I often miss some icon because the whole dock is resizing constantly during my maneuvering through the stack grid, but there are other things which are missing too such as delay option for "show on top when mouse is over", positioning of the dock and few others more...I really hope to see some improvements in the future versions which will make this dock more functional for work… Edited August 2, 2009 by Vladimir0523 Link to comment
btb42693
I really hope to see some improvements in the future versions which will make this dock more functional for work…As do many of us, including me! However, future improvements may be quite far in the future, as Bobah has left the dock for now to focus on other things. But, that doesn't mean that we should give up hope on the program. It's one of the best of its kind, if not THE best. The blurred icons in the stacks and on the dock are small inconveniences, however, they can be worked around. Just download some icons off of the internet in the PNG format and right click the icon in the stack or on the dock, click edit, change, and navigate to the icon you saved. That will change the current icon to a higher quality icon. Unfortunately, you aren't able to set a default icon for a specific file type, such as a word document, in the stacks or the dock, so you will have to change the icon for every file you add each time in order to get everything to match. For the problem on launching a program from a dock icon, you will need to manually set the file location. Often, the dock program chooses the location of the icon of the file, and not the executable itself. You will need to right click the dock icon that is not launching, click edit, click on the "..." next to the path box, and navigate to the dock icon's real file (for example, for iTunes, it's C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe. The location the dock uses for iTunes and attempts to launch it is in the C:\Windows\Installer\ directory.) Link to comment

This dock definitively looks the best and I must tell you that I am very pleased with it; especially how it minimizes the windows in the dock by using genie effect also gallery stack is great solution and animations in it are great. It haves definitively his bright moments. I can only promise that I will give it proper support by designing few docks of my own in the future… Link to comment
PatrikG
Hi, my first post on this forum. (probably post it in wrong selection) I can't make my own dock. I have tried alot of diffrent methods, and no one seems to work. (I have follow the tutorials too) Here is one pic, tell me if I'm doing it right. http://i31.tinypic.com/1eudlz.png Thanks for the help. Merged copy "current" folder to "tools" folder, and remane to "default".after that. replace what you want. (same size recommended) open the config.txt that come with xskimaker, than create a name for the skin. save, than drag n' drop config.txt on xskinmaker icon. it should create a skin file. copy the file to xwd skins folder. than select it. hope it help. sorry my english btw. AndrewYY
not quite. You get all of your files in a folder, set up the configuration file, and drag that into xskinmaker, then put the xwd file into the skins folder Link to comment

AndrewYY
ok, so what you do, is go into skins/current, and copy all those files to the tools folder. Then, swap the files you need to, and edit the config.txt file so it matches what you want to create, and drop it (the config file) onto xskinmaker.exe. Put the resulting xwd file into your skins folder. Link to comment

AndrewYY
Your config isn't set up quite right. You'll have to remove all of the "Default/" from the paths. Everything else looks fine Link to comment

yorkey
Why is the bug thread locked? Because Bobah won't be looking at them anyway? Well maybe someone can help me out, and its something that doesn't need any programming.I get the error at (nearly) every startup. It happens 99% of the time. If I click close, and start XWD chances are it will start fine, but alot of the time it won't. If I click Restart, and it restarts XWD, or Continue the error might also not come up but if it doesn't the entire PC freezes, I can go Ctrl+Alt+Delete but my mouse just stays at the hourglass and if I click anywhere nothing happens. Same with the keyboard. I have to restart with the power button.bugreport.txt Link to comment
