host1812
Please, if anybody have 64 Bit build of gdi++, can you share information or binaries? Link to comment
ManBearPig
Yes, for the love of god, somebody please do that. I have recently installed Windows 7 x64 and it looks soooooo ugly without GDI++ Link to comment
BurntAsafoetida
soooooo ugly?! What're you talking about? BTW If you're so disturbed about that you can use 7 x86. Link to comment
ManBearPig
It's a matter of taste I guess. I was so used to having the font smoothed in x86 Windows Vista that I missed that part in x64 Windows 7. The way I put it the last post was a slight exaggeration, though... Link to comment
winsev
Someone is making a 64-bit version of gdi++ called "ezgdi" that uses EasyHook.http://code.google.com/p/ezgdi/Can someone tell me how do you install it? What files go where and do I need to download and install EasyHook as well?http://code.google.com/p/ezgdi/wiki/InstallGuideAnd does anyone knows how to get the ini file to look the same as Safari 4's Medium font smoothing for LCD?apparently you have to rename the gdi++.ini file to ezgdi.ini?http://virtlog.com/2009/08/28/ezgdi-gdi-ported-to-easyhook/ Edited November 10, 2009 by winsev Link to comment
host1812
I had no better results with ezgdi. I tried every combination with gdi++.ini and ezgdi.ini. I put them both in WINDOWSROOT and in system32. Result is - somewhere font rendering changed and somewhere still cleartype. Yet ezgdi is very unstable.Sorry for poor grammar English. Link to comment
ATiGr
The development of GDI++ project stopped a long time ago...Anyone who want to make a 64bit version will have to start all over again...So, I chose to stay in 32-bit just for GDI++. Link to comment
winsev
ezgdi isn't complete, I just wanted to point out that someone is developing a 64-bit version of gdi++ from scratch. (yes, it does crash explorer.exe and doesn't work in IE8 or most apps so it's useless for now)I know the future of Windows font rendering will be using Direct2D and it looks close to GDI but it's still sub-pixel rendering. I don't understand why doesn't Microsoft just use GDI and find good fonts. Edited November 25, 2009 by winsev Link to comment
