Force Safari To Open Links In New Tabs For Windows?

i've got safari 4 beta and love it except that when you click on a link, it opens in a new windows instead of a new tab and that's really frustrating. i know on osx you can change that in terminal, but is there any way of doing that in vista? yeah i know you can do the ctrl+click but i don't like that and i don't like right clicking either. and i have a laptop so there's no middle mouse button

help?????
