vmart3 0
What exactly is it, i did some research but dont really understand what it does and does it work with windows? Link to post
matonga 0
It seems to be just an external display for your MacBook. However the display also comes with a webcam (iSight camera), microphone and speakers. And it has a MagSafe charger!? (????) What the f...?Whatever, more info here:http://www.apple.com/displays/ (just Google a bit, man, hehe) Link to post
technosinner 0
The charger - I believe - is because the laptop can't support the power to it and it's made to be "portable". I think.Apart from that it probably will need an adaptor to work with a PC since it's connector is the Apple proprietary one. Link to post
matonga 0
Mmm... probably right about the proprietary connector. Now I understood about the charger, and it's the other way around:The display can also function as a charger. You plug the display to a power outlet in your wall as usual with anything else, and now the display turns on and all stuff. But also at the same time now the display also charges your notebook, so, the only thing you need to plug to a power outlet is just the display. The notebook drags power from the display. As usual with Apple hardware, this is just a commodity for those who care about the way their setups look. Link to post
painkilleryusuf 0
true Matonga. But i would like to add that if they are making a new product why not make it more productive and easier. I mean who doesnt want that. And about it working with windows, i dont know for sure, but i guess it should be working. Link to post
vmart3 0
okay thanks everybody that helped Link to post
mvosx1094 0
Um yes it can work with Windows I believe. All you need is to purchase one of the 4 adapters Apple made. MiniDVI-DVI, [MiniDVI - VGA (idk about that one)], MiniDisplay-DVI, and MiniDisplay-VGA. Link to post

Too bad they cost an arm and a leg and that their software is about as secure as a single digit combination safe.... Link to post
