Preview iLife Suite on Windows

Recommended Posts

Damn dude your posting a lot lately! He He, I saw iLife for Windows and I nearly fell out my chair!

Dude, are you serious or just joking around.

Is it the real iLife or just applications that look like it with skins or something?

iLife Windows is the real iLife but the difference is that this version is compatible with Windows.

agree with matonga,

You should deff help on this one matonga

since you own a osx... this one could be easy for you :D

Yeah, um... No. If I'm reading the Op's post correctly, this won't get anywhere. (Legal problems, and everything in between)

Matonga, I advise you to not even work with some sketchy dude with 10 posts. This dude is claiming that he's in the process of porting an Apple Product to Windows (With no proof at all, may I add.).

I hardly believed Raats when he was porting FrontRow.

I agree with almost all of the comments here. To get an entire suite working is an almost impossible task..

@Zephi mate, I have to admit I'm tired about the debate on my FrontRow app.

The app I developed DID work as was shown in the demo video, but admittedly the task of making it compatible for almost every system out there was way beyond my modest skill - not mentioning the issue of XP vs VISTA etc etc (take a look at the hiccups with SarahMedia).

As others have experienced the endless demands, configurations of system components, displays, processors RAM was something I could not cover properly - after all I'm a lowly Mac user - and thus the decision to sell off the program onto an interested corporate entity..

I am in awe of people like Matonga who are able to create such astonishing app clones but in fairness, I NEVER said the FrontRow I was making was for general release - I posted it for interest only and I totally underestimated the level of determination of some emulators..

The King is back in the building, yeah! Hey Raats, have you tried the new XWindows Dock yet?

LOL @username3d3 you are kind in the extreme! My humble thanks mate...

Yes, I HAVE tested the XWindows dock and its a simply brilliant piece of engineering...

This app and Matonga's new Finder clone have me booting up the old PC as often as I can..

Its the fantastically hard work by developers like these that make the emulation community such a rewarding place to play...

Yeah man its funny to me, because I can remember when XWindows was first being made and it was called MacXDock back then. I also remember the first release of FingerXP. These apps have come a very long way.

I wish I knew more about programming than I do so that I could help out too, you know what I mean dude.

PS: I saw your Parallels app, but what exactly does it do?

1. I don´t own an OSX, even not anything from Apple (I wish I had enough money for that). Instead there's one at work, so I play around with it as much as I can (even I sit there and use a Terminal and ssh to admin the servers, instead of using PuTTY from the PCs). :)

2. I didn't mean to work with this guy. He would need to write a universal binary emulator or whatever, such as WINE does with Windows apps under Linux. I meant something like when many Aqua-Soft users wanted a reflective dock and initiated a new thread (though the dock was never written).

Yeah, what he's saying is that he can just convert the .dmg image to an .iso and install like that, which is way wrong.

As you said it will take ALOT more work to make this work.

I took a look at iPhoto, and it is way easier to clone it than to write an emulator (or even try to port the .dmg to a windows binary... ok, not technically correct... but you get the point).

Of course I didn't say it's easy to write the clone... but... who knows.
