If you want to go the freeware way, I would try this:

1. Convert the movie into an .avi or .mpeg file, somehow (dunno for this step).

2. Use VirtualDub to save only the audio of the movie, as a .wav file. Be sure to tell VirtualDub to full-process the audio instead of direct-copying it.

3. Then use Audacity on the .wav file to extract the sounds you want.
