System tray problems in WB6

Hey, I'm just curious as to how I'd be able to solve this minor but somewhat annoying problem I'm getting when I use certain skins in WB6 for Vista.

I had asked the creator of a particular theme that I like and he had no idea how to fix it, so I'm just hoping that someone here can help lol.

(I did try to figure it out via SKS and playing around with the UID, UIS and SSS files within the theme as well but no luck). Or I'm just looking at the wrong settings and sections.

The problem is that some of my system tray icons are kind of cut off, as seen in my attachment. The only way I've been getting around it is by either hiding the icon when it isn't in use or customize the icon and run PSTrayfactory.

Thanks!

edit - I don't have Objectbar so I'm not sure if the problem persists in there as well, but as of right now, WB6 only.

I have had a similar problem in WB5 on XP. The systray icons would distort and get cut off almost as much as yours when setting the fontsize to any other than normal under the desktop-> rightclick-> properties-> appearence . Setting it back to normal would take care of the problem. Maybe thats your problem. Look for an equivalent setting in vista.

Have you fiddled around with the fontsize as i described above. The problem could of course be something else, but the similarities between your problem and what I have experienced on XP are remarkable. So doublecheck that your fontsize is set to normal in the desktop properties appearence tab. If it isn't set it to normal, if it is you may have to change the value as kinsemon suggests.

I've playing with changing the value following kisnemon, but no luck at all. The problem is as well the new SkinStudio ver. 6. It is a bit differently organized then previous versions.

Whatever, I've been digging a bit in this new SkinStudio (as you can see in my screenshot), changing the values but nothing better in effect.

I use Vista, so the modifications of different functions is more complicated. I can not find the correct place to adjust the "Desktop properties>appearance tab" in this damn Vista.

Can you help me somehow??

Thanks in advance :)

yeah, SKS has its own quirks. as i'm in xp, i prefer ver5 (point-click-edit).

the best you can do is download a wb vista skin (or several), study how the author did it, then apply what you have learned into your work.
