iTunes Scrollbars and Progress bars

Recommended Posts

To Install:

Replace the extras2.rsrc file in this location:

/System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/HIToolbox.framework/Versions/A/Resources

Do not blame me for anything that may go wrong with your computer... back up the original files before replacing! This is my first release so it may not be the best... if anyone would be kind enough to make an installer for this that would be great... thanks and enjoy....

Going with this iTunes theme I decided that I'd change the aqua-ish progress bar in safari... to look like this:

picture2ya7.png

so that when a page is loading the bar is more iTunes themed....

Download just Safari Theme:

Download System Themes and Safari Themes:

I also added the download icons that when you are partially through a download the icon shows the safari icon and a progress bar... made that iTunes-like

just replace these files in Safari/Contents/Resources

right-click (or control-click) safari then show Package contents --> Resources replace the files included...

Now for more iTunes like theme on Leopard go to the Appearance Preference Pane in System Preferences. Change the Highlight color to other then a window should pop-up with colors to select from. Go to the sliders and change

Red to 120

Green to 140

Blue to 170

You can always adjust the colors to however you choose.

You guys have to port this to Windows somehow, possibly Windowblinds. That's gorgeous.

Yep, these are actually gorgeous....Me wants on windows, ;)

Thanks. I am glad you like them... I do not own a windows computer so it would be difficult for me to do this... anyone who owns a Mac and PC could probably do this...

@ Mac Intosh: I haven't tested the progress bar yet, but the scrollbar looks just awesome! It's a pity that Apple hasn't made it as the default scrollbar for 10.5 because they praised that Leopard will get a unified look...

Nevertheless, I will test your progress bar later that day :)

Looking forward to see more ;)

EDIT: I just tested the progress bar and it looks just beautiful! Great job on this :) One suggestion only: When OS x calculates the remaining time for copied files, can you make a different look for the progress bar then? Now, it's just the iTunes-like progress bar filled out.

I am glad you like them... I do not think I can change that because Aqua did that too... just the way Mac OS X works I guess... sorry... but if I do find a way I'll fix it and tell you.

Don't worry about that, it was just a quick idea. Btw: Your gray theme looks really cool, too :)

Do you know if there's a way to change the rest of the Aqua-interface to look like iTunes, too? I'm thinking about the buttons and the "knob" especially (don't know how this is called -> please open iTunes' Equalizer and you'll know what I mean). Thanks again for your work! :)
