Antaean
Has this question been answered?Randomly, the icon settings just reset. It would happen to one icon, where the settings would reset for that one icon, but all the other icons would remember their own settings. What I mean is, that the one icon would lose it's folder that it's linked to, the image file it's linked to, everything. It would just appear as a square box.Using XP SP3, on the latest rocketdock with the latest stacksdocklet Link to comment

Well most glitches and errors tend to be.:confused:OK, just to be sure this happens to a shortcut in the stack? or is it the Stack Docklet itself that's losing settings? Link to comment
Antaean
It's the docklet itself. It would lose everything I set when I right click and select "Icon Settings". Everything in "Icon Settings" would disappear, leaving the icon field and the folder field blank, and resetting the stuff I set up.The funny thing is, this would happen when I link to drive folders ( like C: or E: ), never to folders that are within those drive folders. CyberStrike
Have you tried storing the setting in a INI? If not, go to Dock Settings > General > (Second Checkbox from the top) Store settings in a Portable INI (Single-User)Click ok and try again. Link to comment
Antaean
Oh, I had that option checked before I started using Stacks Docklet. It's currently still enabled. Link to comment
DarkenLighten
Hey I was just wondering if would be possible to adapt this program so it ran on the desktop without the need for a dock?So that folders on the desktop would have the stacks effect when hovered or clicked on. I think it would be a cool way of navigating information on the desktop. Link to comment

DarkenLighten
Okay cool thanks. I didn't t know about that 'standalonestack'. Just been trying it out. It's not immdiatly clear where the shot cut parameters go, especially for new people I would image. I was looking for some option on the docketlet properties at first.. it was opening at odd angles and off screen before that.Ideally it would be cool if the direction option was either there [in the ctrl double click properties], or best case was automatic depending on the location of the desktop icon, which also changed as it moved around. And second, that it was applicable to a normal folder rather than an icon hack. Something like right click context 'make this folder a stack', click, then set options. Also with option to open on hover, that's what I really want.Is this still being worked on? Link to comment
Phoshi
It's not being done by mat, so he's not the person to ask. Link to comment
Prydeless
I just wanted to report that after installing Adobe CS3 Design Premium Suite, object dock plus started crashing due to the control panel special folder. Stacks Docklet seems to work with the other folders though. Link to comment
periferral
this docklet is great. Thanks for it. A quick question. Is it possible to reduce the icon size. I see global options have a way to reduce font size. It would be brilliant if I could adjust the icon size as well. The problem is that most icons in folders are 16px and it just looks bad when it enlarged. thanks much Link to comment
fadeaway
hi, i'm wondering how to change the number of icons displayed in the stack (fan mode). plz figure it out if there's a way, thanks Link to comment
matonga
@fadeaway:Less icons: not configurable.More icons: the program determines the maximum number of icons based on screen size. Putting more icons may set them out of screen. If this is not the case, and by a big margin, then post a screenshot so I can study your case. Link to comment

All stacks icons revert to a gray box with no settings after logging out of the user account and logging in as another user. Only the title is preserved. It happens whenever anyone on my computer *switches* users; If I log out of my own account and log right back in, the stack docklets are not lost.Using Rockbox.ini file settings did not help. I also exported the Rocketdock settings to a registry file and tried applying it and restarting, still got gray boxes..? Link to comment
maeddes
@matonga: i posted this a few days before in this thread! hello, i have a problem with the stacks docklet. i posted a screenshot here link: my screenresolution is 1920x1200. it would be nice, if you could fix this. btw: i love your stacklet docklet! thanks / maeddes Link to comment
justo8418
First of all I just wanna say thank you for this awesome program Matonga.I have a couple of suggestions, I don't know if anyone else has pointed these things out or if anyone else even has these problems, but here they are1. When I browse to change the icon for the stack docklet, I select the .png file and the path doesn't show up. I have to type in the path manually. This only happens for .png files that are outside of the ObjectDock root folder.2. It would be cool if you added a mouse over effect for icons inside fan or grid (make it as an option - mouse over effect on or off)I'm using ObjectDock current freeware version and XP SP2Well that's all I have to say, thanks again. robc
I second the request for some mouse hover effect inside the grid and fan Actually, at the moment, I'm completely satisfied with the Stacks docklet (and RocketDock) and don't "need" anything more than such an effect. DarkSentinel
I've been using stacksdocklet with StandaloneStack.exe from www.chrisnsoft.com by Christian SalmonI want to report my experience using it.The "open Folder" link isn't working. The "icon" field in the settings doesn't work. And I was wondering if there was a way to make StacksDocklet use png icons?I was thinking a folder could be made called "stacks" and within this folder could be StacksDocklet custom shortcut files recognized by the docklet. In these files there would be setting or configurations to allow custom icons for each shortcut, much like how the dock programs work. That way users can have the advantage of using a format like png for icons that look better when re-sized. One problem I have encountered; when I place a custom icon onto a shortcut file to a program or URl file. The default icon shows in StacksDocklet, not the custom one. Not sure why.I really like this little docklet its pretty nifty. Link to comment
Ghostwalker
I've been using stacksdocklet with StandaloneStack.exe from www.chrisnsoft.com by Christian SalmonThat docklet was not made by Matonga so I do not believe he can help you. Please go to the first post of this thread download and try his stacks docklet. With the standalone you will have to contact Christian Salmon to get any feedback on that. Link to comment
brow2938
Using 1.0.0.134 with RKLauncher on Vista Ultimate x64 with SP1, the "Special FolderControl Panel" stack doesn't work. It doesn't appear to target the right folder. Only one icon shows up... can't remember which.Keep up the good work. Link to comment

I still have the same issues. The "open Folder" link isn't working. The "icon" field in the settings doesn't work. When I place a custom icon onto a URL shortcut, The default IE URL icon shows in StacksDocklet, not the custom one. Acuity
I see how to create a docklet that displays icons in a desktop folder, but how do I add individual executables to a flyout docklet, so that I can remove them from my desktop?? Link to comment
