jlee 0
you can use vistaglazz or a uxtheme patcher to patch the files needed to use unsigned shell styles in vista.http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=vista...G=Google+Searchhttp://www.msfn.org/board/Uxtheme_patch_Vi...RTM_t86972.html Link to post

I dont want to mess up my windows.Am I the only one that sees the irony in that statement?I honestly don't understand this anti-Windowblinds (which doesn't touch any system files) attitude and then saying "I don't want to mess up windows...how do I hack it to apply themes?" :Don't mind me...I just don't get it. *shrug* Link to post

mikil 0
I don't understand how to apply a theme or style...If I double click the .msstyles file the Windows Aero shows up in a window, not the style I've choosen...and the .theme doesn't work either :/ Link to post
zaimek 0
If 'Windows Aero' shows up, than apply it. Link to post
mikil 0
If 'Windows Aero' shows up, than apply it. I've tried that, but it doesn't work Link to post
painkilleryusuf 0
did you patch the UX theme patcher first? Link to post
rjohnstone 0
If you haven't patched UXTHEME.DLL, you will not be able to use third party themes/styles.If all you're seeing is Windows Aero, your uxtheme.dll file is not patched. Link to post
mikil 0
I've patched uxtheme.dll...I'm not retarded I installed WindowBlinds instead... Link to post
shmengie 0
on the other hand, i DO know how to apply themes. and this one just ain't showing up. i have several other themes installed, and yes, they all show up as 'windows aero.' this one just doesn't show.edit: nvm. renaming the folder to match the msstyle name fixed it. btw, that's been one of my pet peeves for a while: guys releasing stuff that needs to be fudged before it'll work. mismatched msstyle/folder name is a common one. regardless, thx for this.
