You might wish to consider using the CodeCompiler classes and allowing people to write them as plaintext scripts, which would keep them from having to compile each 'widget'.

Hummm I never ran into this class, I just checked MSDN, it's quite handy indeed, I will think about how this can fit in the existing architecture.

Hi,

is a small preview of myBoard alpha. I'm having a hard time finding a freeware which let's me capture my desktop in fullscreen so I had to resize it to 800x600 to make this video. That's why the gadgets take so much space on screen

I couldn't manage to capture the mouse cursor also, so if you see a couple of things happening without any reason, that's because you don't see me clicking on a button.

myPhoto is a gadget where you will see pictures rolling. It let's you browse pictures located in a specified directory (My Pictures for instance). I inspired me from iPhoto 08 for this gadget, and even if you can't see the mouse cursor, I'm actually cycling through pictures just by moving the mouse cursor on the x axis on the gadget. If you move the cursor on the bottom of the gadget, a navigation bar will appear allowing you to change the active folder. This gadget is not finalized yet.

+1 for the CodeCompiler classes integration, I don't like JS but I wouldn't mind to try widgets in .Net (how can we load assemblies in Dynamic Compilation ?)

Humm that's strange, here is what the caldendar widget looks like on my Mac :

nothing is in capital letter.

It's a french OS X, I don't know how it looks on US version.

Can anyone post a screenshot where it looks different ?

In English, days of the week and months are capitalized, whereas in French they are not, hence the difference. Anyway, this looks like a cool app for Vista users! Good job!

I'm reveiving a lot of emails from you guys asking about a download link, so I want to make it clear. The first minute the beta phase will start, I will let you know on this forum.

Only people who have a deep understanding of .NET 3.O/WPF stuff can have access to a pre-alpha build + source code.

Once again, thank you all for your support, I really appreciate it, and it keeps me motivated for this project.

You asked for news, here is what I can tell you :

• A Pre Alpha build of myBoard will be available before the end of this month, it will be available ONLY for beta testers. Please understand that a pre alpha is not "feature complete". When it is used, it refers to all activities performed during the software project prior to software testing. So basically I'm releasing this to give you an idea of what I'm trying to do with myBoard.
  

• A beta of myBoard SDK (to create gadgets) will also be available shortly (this month too)
  
• I'm currently working on the website & licenses issues and this is a time consuming process.
  
• Beta tester subscribtion is over, a public Alpha version should be available end of January, most likely February so please be patient.
  

That's all I can tell you so far.

myBoard does NOT support any other gadgets. It is only compatible with .net assemblies which is kind of the whole point here.

myBoard Pre-Alpha 0.2 is now out and ready for beta testing.

Change log :

- Configuration panel added, you can now define a custom mouse or keyboard button to activate myBoard (in case you don't have a mouse with a middle button)

- Calendar click through bug fixed

- Cursor now switch to hand when it's over the "Expand Explorer" button.
