Features:

* slimmer profile than current models

* brushed metal

* Easy access side ports including USB (for flash drives) and headphone jack.

* All other ports- ethernet, firewire, power and additional USB etc at the back).

* Dual CD burner drive with on-the-fly mode (fast cd burn mode that allows you to burn cd copies without having to store anythiing on the hard drive in between).

* An adjustable stand (yes the mockups dont really show it).

how bizzare... it shows up on my computer (macbook pro running OSX 10.4.10... but then I went to the windows platform (xp) on my other pc and it doesnt show up...

a sign dont you think? (just kidding).

I tried imageshack and it doesnt work either...

OK, i uploaded jpeg thru my XP machine and used the "save for web" option in photoshop to compress it down to 44kb. I think th previouse file size (956kb) must have been too big for firefox to load or something.

I dunno, I kinda like the current iMac design. But Apple should stick in dual CD drives and thin it down a bit.

I too love the current imac design and didnt think there was much I could really change.

The main complaint I hear about the imacs is the size of the "chin" where the Apple logo is on the front. Thus I have cut it off and added a bigger screen in my mockups.

Secondly, I personally am over the clear plastic + white look... it looks toyish. I was inspired by the 2nd gen nanos which both look funky and are hardwearing at the same time, but also the Mac Pro/powermac which looks tough.

I used nano source images to create the mockups.

Its time Apple brought back the colour to computers which made them popular!

Dual drives would be hard to create specially in such a thin computer, but It was just an idea I had...

I'm for the silver or black ones.

However I'm not wanting to see the white in the side view of the colored ones, make all the same.

I think it look too much the aerial view of the older iPods (don't know what gen it was).

I just think redish, blueish etc looks cheap and tacky. :slant:

hmmm thats cool...though i would have expected the new imacs to be more widescreen than these. I worry that the new imac will just become a skinny laptop with a metal stand and no keyboard. Maybe there will be a thin low powered nano version of the imac and a thicker beefier more powerful version released as well (like the whole macbook and macbook pro thing). (Though they do already have the mac pro but thats mainly aimed towards the hardcore technophiles and multimedia producers). I had a feeling everthing would go brushed metal eventually. Ever since i saw the ipod mini i thought hmmm..what about having a [insert all other hardware here] with an aluminium case.

I like the iMacs just the way they are. Maybe they should have black and white options. I don't think iMacs will ever become more than black and white. I think maybe just a little thinner would be nice, but I'm not expecting much out of the new iMacs. What if it was possible to have a built-in printer? That is too much but it would be kinda cool.

update-

An Apple press event has been Officially anounced;

http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/31/apple-g...vent-next-week/

"Looks like those rumors about new Macs (specifically, iMacs) on the 7th were true -- we were just invited to an Apple "product presentation for Mac" at Apple Town Hall in Cupertino next week."

..."this is going to be a press gathering for Mac products (and Mac products only -- so stash away those iPhone hopes, fears, and rumors until next Wednesday)."

woot woot! this is EXCITING!
