My computer died, adios!

Recommended Posts

Today, i Have lost something very important to me. It was like my child.

But You HAVE to Get over it and live without it. You just have to "Face the Facts".

I knew it was to happen soon. my computer was very sick, it got more worse every day.

My Computer could not be revived, unless i buy a whole new one, that costs 200 dollars.

I Could not recover, because i used the REG Key alot. It was getting old. 6 years old.

We have changed the drive once, the next time we plan, we will use a knoppix live CD,

until we can afford something. Last month, it was a threat from AVG, the File: WBLoad.dll. (Windowblinds)

i Healed it. Never seen a threat after. Then, i had a problem with my window dragging, wich led me to

restoring to the First restore point. The Next major thing was my cursor. it would disappear alot, making me restart.

One day uninstalled Firefox, and got the old version, because i heard using chrome, you can get scrollbar orders like the mac.

And, they had good safari things. But then, my big killer, the Guilty thing was ............Finderbar........ I was only on my desktop

i went to view and clicked "as Columns". My icons were severely messed up,

I restarted and i end up getting the "blue screen of Death".

It said "Unmountable_Boot_Volume or something like that....

So guys, it will be indeed that i won't see much of leopard that you guys make, such as skins, and screenshots.

I will miss alot of you guys, especially the threads i can help about and Aqua-soft.

It will be about January of 08 i will return with screenshots. Currently up to 50 of 250$

You could still spot me online, but not as the skinner, just answering

questions.

That sucks. Can't you get a cheap replacement computer, like a second hand one?

And if the problem isn't in the hardware it could be re-installed but i'm sure this thread would be non-existent if that was the case.

If you're not fussed about how good the computer is, I believe you can now get a (very) low end linux laptop for $150. There's a news post on osx-e 'bout it. If you have a legal copy of windows you can just install that... or try out linux. :D (Switch, switch, switch!)

Wipe and reinstall if the hardware is good.

Rinse and repeat if it goes bad again.

Hardware is really bad, We have to make almost 300$ and to get new hard drive and CD.

We maybe have to get new computer because my REG Code doesn't support anymore.

My mom wants me to get a Windows OS, she won't put up with Leopard, i told her that the cheapest thing we can get was an eMac. I Know a mac mini is cheaper but, does it have Mac OS in it?

Guys, give me more info n the mac mini.

Q: Can you hook it up to a PC?

I Probably do have to get a new computer.

Coupled with an all new architecture and the world’s most advanced operating system, Mac OS X, Mac mini runs all your modern and innovative software, speedily... (http://www.apple.com/macmini/)

Sorry to hear that CanasX, you're one of my favorite Leopard emulation developers... hope you be back soon. (And yes, i told ya 4 transformation packs maybe would cause a little trouble...)

BTW if your mom doesn't like Mac OS X, what about BootCamp?

Adiós, para siempre adiós!

Hope you get a new comp soon!

Um... a Mac mini is a computer. It comes with OS X Tiger. You hook it up to a monitor, and a keyboard, and a mouse.

If your mom wants a Windows computer, you might have to get a PC since you mentioned frugality.

If you had Leopard installed on your Windows PC, you deserved to mess up your system.

Windows emulation leopard, not actually leopard, I believe. I haven't heard of anybody who has got the the latest public leopard build working, but then again its been ages since I actually checked how all those hackintosh people are going.

CanasX, I suggest you get an intel mac mini (if it's in your price range)

You could have leopard running on it (When leopard is released) and dual boot it with windows XP/Vista (with the final build of boot camp, not a beta!!)

Just don't get a PowerPC mac. You'll never run windows (natively) and they will be outdated very quickly.

i still doubt you need a new computer. forgive my naiveness, but i didn't know bad software can screw up hardware (please don't yell at me). my computer is about 6 years old, i got the most expensive computer at the time. My hard drive (that came with the computer) hasn't encountered any problems except for that one time with the whole disk check at boot up... and that was on a partition). the point is, maybe you should try to reformat and everything. You could bring your drive to a friends house and use it as a secondary one, then completely format it.

The eMac was discontinued by Apple on July 5, 2006 and replaced with a cheaper, low-end iMac originally sold exclusively to educational institutions, but later released to the general public in September 2006.

if you're serious about getting an eMac...

I opened my computer tower and everything was dust dust dust. I did this at 1:30 AM.

No Leopard was installed to my system, i do not pirate leopard like others do. I will talk to my parents

about mac mini. I could wait longer to make 500-600 dollars for this, and by the time i might have leopard installed.

REMINDER: My comp. would not work, even if i did recover from it. The Validation key can not

be used again.

My parents run two computers, they don't want ME to run a mac, and idk why......

I have thoughts of getting vista too.

no offence but how on earth did this thread get this much attention? I don't want to sound mean but the fact that your PC died and you've given up hope fixing it, doesn't really mean you have to talk to us about your ordeal.

I have to say +3 to Xyb`. I thought something terrible had happened to someone he knew and dearly cared for and depended on (Might be the case still but for the wrong reasons :P). This thread doesn't really have much purpose or drive towards an aim or outcome. I don't understand why you posted it here in the first place. This forum is mainly mac/ mac emulation centric. If you were posting about buying a new pc why didn't you just post somewhere like neowin. It is bad that your PC has broken but it's not the end of the world (.....yet....mwahahahahah!...*cough*)
