spyro94 0
I have just (and I literally mean JUST) installed Windows Vista Home Premium, and I don't want to start skinning it/making big customizations. I just wanted to ask you guys what some must-have downloads for Vista are? Anything that will really allow me to enjoy Vista more. Link to post

spyro94 0
I really don't see a difference between the two, the only thing that really bugged me on IE6 is that PNG's didn't work and the lack of tabs. IE7 has both of those, so I really don't have any problems.Anything else guys? Link to post
derek 0
http://www.ie7pro.com/ ie7 is a good browser, and better with ie7pro plugin. someones flame ie7 but don't seem to have any idea why Link to post

Levi- The perfectionist 0
Slight off topic- Any good themes that utilise the Aero engine??? and good shell packs with transparencies?.... these would be good.... I want to see mods of aero theme As for browsers ie 7 is good. firefox is great. ie is less customisable. firefox is constantly getting more and more extensions to well.... extend its functionality. so while ie is a solid browser, its just not "the people's" browser. and when are we likely to see the next ie upgrade? seriously... spyro94 0
I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft let us stick with IE7 for a really long time before they release a significant update. As for themes, I haven't seen any themes that use the Aero engine, but then again, I just got vista and want to keep the Vista look for a while. Is it me or are there hardly any developers working for Vista? I can't find any sites with decent Vista downloads. Link to post
Slewed 0
if you've just got vista for the eyecandy, start downloading gadgets for the sidebar!! Link to post
spyro94 0
I got vista because XP was horrible (you can check all the posts I made asking for help) and now I have an OS I can use and enjoy without problems popping up everywhere. I am not using the sidebar, I really don't like it. It looks weird and makes my screen seem much smaller. I can't find a way to autohide it. Link to post
davidsword 0
With regards to the sidebar, Thats why I love Vista+WidescreenMonitor Link to post
gretelburger 0
i dont know if this is just for vista, or if it is a must have for you, but it is something i love! it is called folder lock, try typing it in and in the meantime i will try and find where i got it from for you! it is so you can have a folder that requires a password for opening it, so it can be your own secret folder. i am new to all this so i hope you enjoy it and vista (with its problems) as much as i do! good luck, debbie Link to post
davidsword 0
4.9. Action: "Bumping" (posting needlessly to) threads without good reason. People do not want to see a four-month old thread, just because you think it's important. If they want to read an old thread, they will find it themselves. Only post to old topics if you have something which directly contributes to the topic of discussion, or furthers the commentary.Result: Offending post(s) removed. Boarder line bumping "Posted 03-16-2007" 4 months old And Folderlock, athough good for porn a private stuff is a very amazing app to have, I dont think its a "Vista Must Have" at all, its more off a overall windows-must-have Link to post

Quube LC 0
I suggest you to download the safari for windows vista on www.apple.com... it's 2 times faster than IE and 1.6 faster than firefox... you can also try downloading the new version of object dock, it has new themes and cooler icons, the appearance is just great. [[Edit]] you could also try downloading WinRar and a program called Recuva, it recovers the deleted things from the recycle bin. Link to post

Safari for Windows is not ready for primetime just yet. Still too buggy and unstable. Install IE7pro Firefox on Vista still take a bit to load... they need to fix that issue. Link to post
