Kamil1971
hello kamil..can u tell me how to use UPX..im comfusing.. i didn gets wt matonga do.. where im going to write it  :wacko:tnx Try this one: http://www.pazera-software.com/products/free-upx/ it's more user-friendly than the command-line version. Copy the .exe file into a folder of your choice, run Free UPX and you will have all necessary buttons in the upper part of te window. "Add file" you want to unpack and "Decompress". By default the unpacked file should be saved instead of the packed one (check the file size). Then you can change the icon with ResHack. Edited February 19, 2009 by Kamil1971 Link to comment
Schwanzlurch
Little Bug: When fullscreen Firefox is minimized to Taskbar and brought to foreground by WinExpose, it's no longer maximized.###EDIT###Firefox is not the only program. Also confirmed for e.g. Songbird. Edited February 27, 2009 by Schwanzlurch Link to comment

So it isn't translatable. Anyway the option will be removed in future releases, as it is mostly the same to use the hack or not (no improvements in performance at all when using the hack, i.e. to use it or not to use it is exactly the same in performance terms). matonga
@cns0813h: Add AppleMinMax.exe and SafariMinMax.exe to exceptions list. For explorer you seem to be using Styler Toolbar. I suggest using KSoft's Mac Finder Toolbar for Windows, it works right with WinExpose. iTunes seems to be incompatible with WinExpose, I can do something about this later... WIndows Vista/7 users with Aero enabled may not have this problem (but when having Aero enabled I recommend using Bao Nguyen's Switcher instead. Maybe at some point WinExpose will handle WinAmp, AppleMinMax/SafariMinMax, iTunes, Pidgin and other stuff in a better way, but just now I don't have time for this. Link to comment

koolhermit
very stable program, great job!speed is very slow though and not very practical for everyday use. Sometimes takes > 5 seconds for all the windows to show up on a very fast machine with tons of ram even when texture size is down to a quarter size. I don't know how the mac does it, but as far as I know, theirs is almost instantaneous Link to comment
Impheatus
I'm on a Centrino Duo 1.66GHz, 1.5GB, WinXP SP3, running ObjectDock, Yahoo Widgets, Styler, WLM and Photoshop and all windows show up instantaneously, no delays, no problems.BTW: Texture size is set to "Normal" and Graphics engine is set to "DirectX". Those are default settings I think? Edited March 28, 2009 by Impheatus Link to comment
koolhermit
Usually it takes 2-3 seconds at least for the windows to show up but quite often it does take more than 5 seconds. I have DirectX on too and an ok video card installed. I have 10 windows or so most of the time. Also, at idle state, the program uses over 40 mbs...which seems to be a bit much when it is in the idle state..although I understand 40mbs isn't a whole lot in today's standard Edited March 28, 2009 by koolhermit Link to comment
matonga
In answer to three last posts: The more windows open, the more WinExposé takes to show up. The solution is to have a screenshots caché, but I haven't time to implement it yet. @koolhermit: 40 MBytes... idle? you mean, when you're not using WinExposé? Try this: Close WinExposé. Run WinExposé, but don't activate it (don't press hot-key, screen-corner, whatever). Now go to task manager and if it still uses 40 MBytes, either you're using a very old version or I've done something very very wrong (last one more probable). Link to comment
koolhermit
I have the latest version. When I first startup the program, it only uses 10mb or so of memory. After I hit the hotkey once, it stays at 40mb even in the idle state. I thought you must be storing some screenshot cache there since the memory usage doesn't drop, but the speed doesn't improve on subsequent hotkeys and from what you said, you are indeed not saving any cache. With the > 5 seconds wait for all my windows to show up, I find it much slower than alt-tab now. One suggestion I have would be to have the labels or even the program icon like alt-tab on all the screenshots automatically so it is easier to identify the window I want. I must compliment you for all the hard work that you have put into the project though. Edited March 28, 2009 by koolhermit Link to comment
