sean.fletcher
I was looking over apple's site, and I saw in the Mac Mini's Frontrow section, that you can use a TV to display Frontrow. I was just wondering, can you use a TV as a regular monitor, or only for Frontrow?Because I'm going to save up my money to try to get a setup like this:LinkHere is a list of costs, if anyone is interested:Samsung HP-S5053.....................$3,499.99Mac Mini.........................................$599.00iPod Hi-Fi.......................................$349.00Miglia TVMini HD...........................$249.95Wireless Mouse.............................$59.00Wireless Keyboard........................$59.00-----------------------------------Total................................................$4,815.94 Link to comment
shmengie
i know a guy who has a setup almost exactly like that pic. he's got an mp3 server up in his bedroom but uses the mini in the living room as the front end for his entertainment center. pretty slammin' setup. Link to comment
sean.fletcher
Oh, I also have a question about the Apple remotes: Would the one for the iPod Hi-Fi get confused with the one for the Mac mini? Link to comment
Ivan
if google doesn't lie, that samsung plasma has RGB input, which means you'll be able to hook it up as a standard monitor (with a DVI to VGA adapter). Link to comment
Carvetia
Or get a Sharp Aquos. Don't like Sharp all that much, but i got one cheap, has a DVI connection in it.... P.S. Awesome has an "e" in it. Link to comment
sean.fletcher
If anyone can tell me what brand/model the TV in the picture is, you get this large stack of money. Link to comment
Slewed
judging by the size of the mini next to the tv, the tv is 40". it has a very small brand name on the front so i assume its sony, so ill say the 1st tv that popped up on google images: Sony KLVV40A10 Heres the search: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=40...rch&sa=N&tab=wi Link to comment
geoking66
The remotes will not get mixed up. Remember, they're set up for only one device. The one for iPod Hi-Fi will only respond to iPod Hi-Fi because it is discoverable to iPod Hi-Fi, not Mac mini. I myself have an iMac Core Duo and iPod Hi-Fi, and the remotes do not get screwed up. Hope that helps.-Phil Link to comment
