nizeace 0
Hi People...Is there an editor or a program, where you can edit the shell32.dll or .cpl files per drag & drop?for icons I just found microangelo for the easiest way to change them.there you have overview. With ResBuilder I easily can change the Bitmaps, but the Dialogue Positions update themselves always and go back to default if you save the file. With ResHack the positions stay as they are, but it is so tiring to change the icons one by one with maybe 5 clicks for each thing. Is there a easier way than all this?thx, nizeace Link to post
jhorner 0
i dont think so. the only way i know of is ResHack Link to post
ShadyApple 0
how safe is reshack? do i have to make a original copy of shell32.dll and then mess around with the original instead? Link to post
jhorner 0
yes, i would recommend copying the shell32.dll and then mess around with the copy. then use "replacer" (?) and hope it works. Link to post
ShadyApple 0
so how does the OS know which shell.32 to use if there are two of them? one being modded. Link to post
smoovie 0
change the name of the old one to something else i.e. shell.32.old Link to post
ShadyApple 0
oh alright, that way the OS can use the one thats called shell.32 (which is the one that i modded) and the original shell.32 is now called shell.32.old. am i right so far? Link to post
