[release] Buttonpulser

Recommended Posts

Hi, 30 minutes ago i decided to spend the next 1/2 hour not relaxing, but doing something usefull.

And heres the result, dunno if it runs on your system and dunno if it runs on another skin than Iceman's Jaguar.

Although you need win XP (Jaguar) and 32bit color (not tested anything else).

The color is important, because the button-picture is captured from the live-screen. As transparency the topleft pixel is used (with some tolerance).

What the program does: It pulses the dialogs default-button like OSX does (i liked that).

Configuration: None, just start the program, to quit use your task-manager or logoff ;).

I was to lazy to add config-options, because i like it the way it works and bevor i spend any time to make this program beta/final i wanted to know if somebody likes it.

So long

THIS PROGRAM IS OBSOLETE NOW, USE New Post

oh ... my ... god. what we have all been waiting for ... too bad it has to be run as a separate app, but no biggie. iceman's jaguar is my favorite theme and this works BEAUTIFULLY with it ... i have no real mac to compare it with, but my eye tells me that the darker shades are a little too dark, a little too grey-blue instead of aqua blue, but i may be completely wrong.

THANK YOU!

first thx for the credits :)

Thanks for the error-reporting, but i will wait until there are more responses.

This is really a 08/15 app (using timers and consuming to much memory and cpu), i only posted it to publish the idea of making maclike animations and wait for the responses.

When the people (you) like it, i throw it away and make a new one using hooks or code injection and add configs + corrections ;)

So post your opinions and bugreports, when there are enough i will do, otherwise not :-P

Have phun, i will go to bed now good n8

ps vjay -> no its a real nick name for my real one ;)

Edit @ Ken: J..No it also flashes, but u must look very close, cause it uses the live-image from the button it fades the unfocused-button-image ;)

@ bed now

p.s. i noticed the same thing Ave noticed - when you switch the focused button, only the originally focused one keeps pulsing and the newly highlilghted one doesn't pulse at all.

regardless, i'm loving this!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I've noticed it too. :)

Awesome lil' app!!! :D

Great idea!

When I run it, the default button flashes. If it loses focus, it stops flashing until it's focused again. All other buttons are not affected at all. Is that how it should be?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

on a mac the button doesn't flash nor is it even blue when the window isn't active.

It's working with Recurve... niiice :D

But damned dotted frame is affecting the Idea... maybe you can destroy that frame?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

There's a hex edit, that a kind person managed to locate, that lets you get rid of the dotted selection border. Search for it, the thread is from a few days ago. Just involves replacing a few codes in user32.dll.

wOOt, its working w/ Jetblack WB version.. this is exactly what i've been looking for for agesss.. *was just about to sit down and try to figure out how to import shinobi WB's pulsing buttons tonight* lol

edit: btw, to get rid of the dotted boader for most things, go into your display properties, then appearance, then effects, and uncheck the "hide underlined letters for keyboard navigation" etc etc lol that will turn off the boarder... stupid sounding i know, but it works lol
