first off amzing proggy rimmer- 'tis luvly.

if your not aiming to get a fully acurate reporduction on th osx bar, the why no go the whole way with this (very cunning) infintie buttons idea- if possible could you put the close/min/max buttons also onto infinte buttons? theres a close on already on- (i think) how about putting the rest on?

once again luverly proggy dude!

Youve actuallyy got me interested in programming!

Thank you!

Unfortunately, I'm getting an access violation when trying to launch this program.

The following are my running programs and I tried to close them all, but to no avail:

1) ObjectBar (closed)

2) WindowBlinds (closed)

3) WindowFX

4) MobyDock (closed)

5) AveDesk

Any ideas why this may be happening?

close/min/max buttons

Well, I thought about that, but...

Actually we use Close button much more often than others (not every window has to be maximized, but every window has to be closed).

Yes I thought to make such actions, but without using buttons. The first idea is to use tray plugins when the tray will be done. But the even greater idea is to capture mouse wheel events or some other events (like "right dragging to top/bottom", if your mouse doesn't have the wheel) on the Closer. This way I can get rid of unneeded buttons and save screen space. The only problem is that controls do not automatically capture wheel events... But I'm working on it.

I should say here "Wait for next beta, this will be done for you", but I'm not planning to publish any betas more (sorry). So this might be tested in the final beta only. Wait for it. The progress of McBar Project is about 65%.

Hmm... McBar is known to run after a few AVs even (that was a great fun for me to run it bare without McMenu, config and skins)... The most obvious reason is wrong configuration, probably. Make sure that mcbar.ini is in the same folder with mcbar.exe, that skins folder is OK and the correct skin name is selected in mcbar.ini. Usually, you should unpack all the zip into one folder (its better to make a new one for this, not recommended to install over older versions), then just run McBar.exe.

Hmm... Ho! What OS do you use?

I'm using WinXP Home SP1

-All files unzipped in 1 folder and I ran it immediately without tweaking any of the files.

I'll try checking out the INI file.

Thanks!

NTFS? Maybe quotas?! Never mind, just thinking.

At which address does it read when it catches AV? (Access violation blah-blah-blah Read at address XXXXXXXX)?

Hmmm... I just discovered something in the INI files

The files in the INI point to an "Aqua" folder, which I don't have. It's looking for multiple applications and shortcuts within the Aqua folder...

I suppose I can try and change those shortcuts and see what happens.

EDIT: Nope, not the prob... But the INI is pointing to a few prog's I dont' have... I doubt this is the issue.

Access Violation at address 004697B8 in module 'mcbar.exe' . Read of address 00000000.

I still can't figure it out.

Thanks :)

EDIT: Actually, there are multiple access violations.  About 3 or 4 of them... the above is the first one.

Most probably the skin error!!! Try apply another skin.

McMenu is known to produce no errors (fully bug free :))

PS. And finally I recommend to download a build from Mirror 4 in my sig.

Enjoy Moscow, but for when you return:

Bug report: I was working in photoshop with McBar open, and i tried to switch brushes but couldn't, as the brush pop-out window would flash and then close, instead of staying open as it should. I had to close McBar in order to select my brush.

Also, is there anyway to exclude programs from appearing in the Program Manager by editing the .ini? With all my Avedesk desklets on my desktop, I have like 10 "Docklet" listings under the manager.

Fantastic, fantastic app .... this is honestly one of the best aqua-related apps I've ever used.

I don't have Photoshop, but I'll try to find out what's wrong. /EDIT/ McBar is also known to be incompatible with Borland JBuilder 4 (I'm not sure about other versions, but it is so for 4)

About excluding: It's strange, but I've never thought about exclusion lists. It is even more strange, because I try to make everything to be optional and customizable. Exclusion lists gonna be a good feature (I plan to use them in more flexible way to set up McBar look per app). Thank you!

i like the apple menu's screenshots. however, before i download it, i must know. how much cpu/ram does it take up? i wont use it if it uses up too much...though it does look cool. see the thing is that even though i have enough ram, i want to leave as much free as possible when my system is idling. for example, 3r-1c uses at lesat 5-6 mb ram when not in use. what for?

lol got bored and i really like this program so i made  the apple menu...

cool program!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

So could you please share it with more lazy people who haven't managed themselves to make such a nice thing? It looks very very very nice and seems to be useful also. Your menu is what i meant to do when I created a customizable McMenu.
