Mcbar

Recommended Posts

Maybe some of you guys haven't noticed: the v.0.0.1.36 alpha was released a few days ago (see my signature for links). It does remove the menus. But I really hate that build and now I'm trying my best to make it smoother. Please, note that menu removing is not the subject for bug reports in this build (it was just my experiment whether its possible). Please wait for v.0.0.1.37 release.

One Question: What will McBar Display when there are no applications? The standard FILE : EDIT : VIEW : etc... of a normal Mac? ^_^

Thank you!

About Standard Menu: For now McBar does only the capturing of existing menus, it cannot create something. I know this looks crap when there's no standard menu for desktop (I really think it should be), but this will be the job of plugins. Today I was working on the McBar API - the first approach to plugin system. I think first of pluggable units will be the tray (it seems most easy but impressive tho).

P.S. TO ALL: I still would appreciate if someone gives any links to articles/examples of safe removing the window menus, as this is still an unresolved problem (I mean I can remove menus, but most apps don't like when window menu is removed too early). Also I'd like too see Delphi and C++ coders around here soon to discuss the API and plugin system declarations. The start of discussion will be announced specially, of course.

Come and get v.0.0.1.38! (Zip may be unavailable for short time because of server downtime). As usual, all the links are in my signature.

This is the last public beta, I think. I will try to fix as much bugs as possible and then start developing the plugin system.

If anybody wants to see, here is the demo pre-publication of McBar API (not even for discussion yet): http://rimmer.mail333.com/api.htm

Ahhhh... Most of Mail333.com services are unavailable...:( I cannot even send e-mail through the web-interface (I don't even dream about POP3 and IMAP, which are both down for the last 2 weeks  ).

So if anyone can give hosting for latest McBar and have managed to get the archive, please put here a working link (your link) to it. I cannot help it!!!

Sometimes http://rimmer.mail333.com becomes alive, so you might try downloading the release. If you could do it, please don't forget about others and put it in your hosting if you can offer one (and then share the link, of course). Please help me, guys!
