Cruzn15
Screenshot running on Windows. When I input the information, I'll sometimes get some small vertical lines running at the top of each entry. It didn't show up in the screenshot, but it was evident when I was working with it. Link to comment
wookietv
this is pretty cool for the beta... is there a way to implement an edit and delete function... you know, for when the IRS comes knocking?"What $15000 deposit? My finances are kept neatly in this app"actually, it was because the first entry i made, i entered a wrong digit. so then i had to makeup a fake deposit of $300 to cover the difference... then in a month i would look at that and say, "what the hell did i do with that $300?"another thing would be to be able to add or subtract with a certain date next to it... e.g. to make a monthly budget, get paid on the 1st and 3rd friday... on the 22nd, phone bill is being automatically withdrawn, etc... zpodseven
I like that idea of setting up dates to add and remove cash. As far as going back and making changes. Right now you just have to edit the total.txt and data.csv files. I'm changing how the data is stored soon so it will recalculate the total every time you open the app. I'll see what I can do about editing and removing entries in the app.Oh yeah, attached is an idea of what the icon for it might look like. Still playing with ideas. Link to comment
wookietv
i think that icon is good as-is...another thing i thought of is when you hit the - button, perhaps it could have a popup with a combo box to choose what kind of withdrawal it is... then it adds into a column the withdrawal code and if applicable the check #... something simple like this perhaps?or just tell me to shut my face, just like at hebrew school back in the day. zpodseven
UpdateI'll be putting a page for the app later. Feel free to submit bugs that haven't been idnetified. The running list of bugs will be on the site. The preference should all be up and running by the end of the weekend. Hopefully, editing and removing records will also be complete. I've tried several ways of setting up multiple accounts. I'm still not sure how I want it to flow. I may have a pull down to select an account, and you would setup accounts under preferences. Introducing iWorkI'm already started on the next phase of the project. For the business types, iFinance will integrate with my new app......... Introducing iWork. iWork will be a timesheet program that syncs over the network with iFinance. One complete business flow. This could be of benefit to many small businesses who don't have the cash to shell out for a full payroll program. iFinance will have two operating modes, personal and business, also set from preferences. zpodseven
The next release will be at least a week from now. It will have quite a few new features. It would have come out this weekend but hanging out in downtown dallas, a lan party later in the day, and getting sick all in one weekend deterred that.Next release will include.-Multiple account support-Full preferencesDoes anyone like the idea of integration with iWork .....or should I put this on hold to code other things? Let me know what you think. Thanks! Link to comment
lostspyder
i say hold. Intergration with iwork sounds like it will only benifit small buisness, many of whom most likley already have software for it. Link to comment

Ummm...Not to widdle on your cornflakes, zpod, but why wouldn't they just use Excel? It's ridiculously powerful, and used by accounting-types the world over... Link to comment
zpodseven
Thats a good question and for you I have a good answer. Many small businesses handle it exactly that way. What happens where I work is for all hourly employees they must fill out an excel timesheet then attach that in an email to the accountinh department. Accounting then must sort these out of the normal emails and save the attached documents, then open them up to get their totals etc. Its bad and backwards.... So if you like excel,go for it. I just like a simplified clean interface to work with stuff. In business mode with iFinance it will act as a server on the local network and iWork will act as a client. Thanks for the input stevie! I realize Imay be totally wasting my time with iWork. It gives me coding experience though. Link to comment

Oh, I seee... You mean for businesses who don't know how to use Excel properly What iFinance does is exactly what the Excel spreadsheets at my company do... I should know - I had to write the damn' things >.< Link to comment
