dreamz 0
yeah, but a lot of people are already back, so people can try.you can also change the host file and try getting there through ip.If you are reading this there is no doubt that you are on the new server, by IP address (69.93.217.132) or by updating your host file. (If your DNS updated you didn't have to do any of this) If in fact you are using IP, then you can update your host file by doing the following. (Note: You may make a backup if you like)Browse to "C:WINDOWS/system32/drivers/etc" and select the file "hosts". When you do this you should get a propmt that says "Windows can not open this file". Choose to select the program from a list. A list of about 20 programs will come up. Choose a software package such as Notepad, or Wordpad. Microsoft Word should do if you'd rather use it. At the first part of the file, you'll get this:" This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name. The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one space."At the very end of the file, copy and paste the following. 69.93.217.132 www.neowin.netMake sure that there is at least 1 space between the IP and address, as instructed.Save and exit the file. Close all browser windows and restart the browser. This fix WILL include Mozilla Firefox/Bird, Netscape, and Opera browsers. Link to post
