Ya..they are different. So how am i gonna go about solving this ?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Redownload the CDcovers Zip file.

CRNI : I tried your config file a few months ago and it worked. Now I got "Error Running Function", when it tries to display the cover ??

The name/track and so on are well retrieved, but not the cover.

Is there something particular to set for the plugin ??

EDIT : I got the problem.

Before it worked with non mp3 files as long as Winamp got the album and track. i tried with commercial CD and it worked before. Now it is not anymore :(

I'm beta testing new config installer for samurize using selfextracting archive

created with WinRAR.

If you already have CDCovers config - OVERWRIGHT old files when prompted.

CDCovers Suite

contains all my CDCovers configs + two more new styles. (~300Kb)

You must have samurize v1.55 installed and setup should do EVERYTHING else for you :

Copy necessary files to samurize folder

Create/reload cdcovers instance and load 'welcome' config :

...

CDCoversBETA.jpg

...

From there it should be easy. While in 'help' screen click on images to see details for each config. You can bring up main menu by clicking on BOTTOM RIGHT corner of each config any time you want. Play with menus a bit any you'll get hang of it.

After you have suite running try to update this thing with Matrix TV set (~100Kb)

No configuration is needed - all your settings are preserved.

This should only add aditional style to the suite.

Overwright old files when prompted and let me know how it works

PS

Last but not least I've just talked to Nem and he is

working on similar import/export tool.

He kindly sent me beta release and it's working like a charm.

That will eliminate need for 3rd party app (WinRAR) to generate installer

and this will be possible using only built in Samurize features.

Question: How come only some of the albums show up? What kind of info do I need in the IDv3 Tag to make the album show up?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

This is from readme file that comes with Samurize :

Search order

------------

The currently playing song is analyzed. If its filename begins with http://

it is a livestream.

When no extension is given in the following list, the search is

done for jpg, png, gif and bmp files (in that order).

Search order:

- [Local Files only] The file "folder" is searched in the

directory where the currently playing file is.

This step is skipped for iTunes which does not serve sufficient

  information.

- The file " - " is searched in the current

directory, the directory above and the cover_global_dir directory.

- The file " - " is searched in the current

directory, the directory above and the global_dir directory.

- [Local Files only] The current directory and the directory above

are searched for any image file, independent of the mp3 tags. This

is skipped if the independent_name option is set to 0.

If a filename contains "cover" or "front" it will be preferred.

This step is skipped for iTunes which does not serve sufficient

  information.

- If the autodownload_byalbum option is set, the plugin searches

www.amazon.com for an album cover using the album tag of the currently

playing file. If available, it is downloaded and saved as .png

in the global_dir directory. The feature obviously won't work if the

playing file does not have a valid album tag.

- If the autodownload_bytitle option is set, the plugin searches

www.amazon.com for an album cover using the title tag of the currently

playing file. This algorithm might find single covers for files not

covered by the above option, but it has also a much bigger propability

of downloading a cover which is not related to the file at all.

If available, the image is downloaded and saved as png file to the

  global_dir directory.

- [Livestream only] The ip adress of the livestream is taken, with the dots

replaced by underscores. For the livestream url http://205.188.234.4:8028,

the file "205_188_234_4" is searched in the directory specified

  in the global_dir option.

If none of the above methods do find a valid image, the file specified

in the stream option is returned for livestreams, and the file specified

in the not_available option is returned for local files.

Hey guys..

I tried it all to get this to work.. There's no way.. there was no way before with old releases..

-

So i'm using cdcovers 8 and lattest samurize 1.55.

I tried disabling firewall or whatever stuff.. but same thing happened.

I'm using foobar2000, i tried for example the polaroid or the vinyl.. i play a song of a WELL KNOWN album like Eminem - Marshall Mathers (tried tons of other albums)..

I get nothing.. i tried putting folder.png on the mp3 folder but nothing.. No cover is shown.

I don't really know how to make this work..

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm not sure what to tell you...AMPI plugin allways worked fine.

Make sure you have plugin configured like in my readme file.

Try to place 'folder.jpg' (not 'folder.png') in your mp3 album folder.

You must allow 'client.exe' to acces internet when your firewall prompts you (I've used ZA,Kerio and Outpost firewalls and never had any problem with it)

Also your files MUST be properly tagged . For foobar easy way is to use freedb plugin and retreive tags automatically :

...

freedb.th.jpg

...

As you can see Eminem works fine here...

What VisualStyle is that?

-Plugin is configured as on your readme file.. (nocover png, dsl connection etc)

-Already checked before and samurize client.exe is on "Permit All" on my firewall, so that must not be the problem.

-I think the mp3 files are correctly tagged cause they are from group releases like ESC, RNS..

And finally i tried putting the album cover as folder.jpg / folder.png on the mp3 directory and nothing.. :-(

How can i check if foobar/samurize communicate well? I don't really know why it's not working.

Help please.

oh god finally!

so it seems that seeking and seeking into foobar's forums i got some dll called foo_info_samurize.dll i did not have installed..

and now it works!

shouldn't samurize have installed that??!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yes, if you had foobar installed when you installed Samurize.

great!!!!!!

I installed it, it works greatly!

really thank you, Crni, you are the God.

Just a little question:

the default label is black, it seems not so clear in my blue background,

So, could you be kind to teach me how to change the font to White?

Thank you.
