  1. Uhhh, I think I'll keep the 3 extra clock cycles it takes to do this and keep my XP looking half-decent.
  2. Old news is old. The new MacBook Pro version of the Modbook is pretty nifty, damn expensive though.
  3. Whenever I am on that site, I tend to frequent /g/ for general geek asshattery. There's usually a Wallpaper thread going on anyway...
  4. I haven't tried on a PC but on a Mac, iTunes all the way. Songbird was a laggy, buggy piece of crap. It's attempt at Coverflow was pathetic, for one.
  5. All of them or specific ones? I'm quite happy to do a few requests but it would take me fricking ages to grab all the Icns files from all the apps. :B
  6. I have to agree, your choice in icons is a bit lame really. Why would people want a mac theme and then use the icon of an old, buggy, third party browser that no-one uses any more? You should also swap the maps and App store icons round, the Stocks app should have Text's icon and that should be replaced with the TextEdit icon or something, and the calculator icon is completely wrong. People should make skins that don't make it harder for people to use their phones- most people are visual when using it so having a poor choice in icons just means it takes longer to find things. Try again.
  7. Vice versa with apps like Crossover, but Mac Apps are firmly remaining on the OSX platform, sorry! Oh and it's illegal to run Leopard on non-mac hardware, btw.
  8. Edit: Double posted somehow. :
  9. Mmkay, super. http://desktoptopia.com/
  10. Hey I have to do that as well and...oh wait, I run all Macs.
  11. New products, slightly off delivery times. Kind to be expected.
  12. This would be the closest option: http://www.dennisbabkin.com/php/download.php?what=WOSB I set it to turn my computer on from standby in the middle of the night, perform a few key tasks for work and then put itself on standby again. You could do the same but with an iTunes playlist opening maybe? Edit: here's a Screenie:
  13. You could just turn off your monitor while it loads...
  14. It's NTFS formatted, which is (usually) a Windows-only format. What I'd recommend is to back up everything that's on it, and then reformat it as a FAT32 file system. (You can do this via My Computer on Windows or Disk Utility on a Mac) which will enable you to read and write on both Mac and PC. The other option is to use NTFS 3G which is an open source Mac method or reading and writing on NTFS. I use this and it works pretty well, but I wouldn't rely on it. Site appears to be down but it's in my dropbox if you like.
  15. As a 40" Samsung LCD owner myself, this is by far the most important thing. I pondered over the Plasma but went for the LCD as it was, as the Phantom said they are more expensive if you want HD viewing. I also use it a lot for gaming so Plasma is a terrible buy for that, or if you keep it on the same channels regularly where you could burn the logo in. (In extreme cases.) Dunno about the black though, mine's got a 50000:1 contrast ratio which is really really black, imo. As for the flicker, maybe if you got for a 100hz model but I've never had that even with b&w films.
  16. Wouldn't it be easier to do it yourself? Not exactly difficult edits.
  17. Aye, two new sets- one standard pair with controls for Play/Pause/Next/Prev/Volume etc. and then a new In-Ear pair which should be really really good.
  18. Salling Media Sync for your music etc. As for contacts, that's somewhat more difficult. :S http://www.salling.com/MediaSync/mac/
  19. You can do it with JS but I'd recommend a php redirect like http://apptools.com/phptools/browser/
  20. Oh yeah, I personally much prefer iWork. It's faster to load up and integrates so much more nicely with all the other iLife apps, Aperture etc. Only real downside is that you have to export files out as a Office Document (.doc etc.) if you want to send it to a Windows PC, as it doesn't natively support iWork documents- but if you're like me and only rarely do that then go for it. Half the price of Office, too. You can use MSN through iChat but I wouldn't advise it. Adium is by far the best Multi-Platform IM client, even if you just use it for MSN. I tried using iChat for MSN a while back and
  21. NeoOffice is far better than OpenOffice, so realistically if you're not happy with that then you pretty much have to go either the Office or iWork route if you want something better. As for burning CDs/DVDs have a look at Burn ( http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net/ ) which is quite neat.
