  1. Also ie7 is already a part of vista.
  2. Download install and customize pclinux, add software update the kernel etc. etc. Then run "remasterme" as root and viola an iso of your own live cd all settings and files intact. This is some screenies of DepO Linux I created for my freinds at work with custom grub, boot, ank kde splash screens. The orange and black are company colors not so much as a preference, the point is making your own live cd. And that's pretty cool. My next one is going to be a matrix themed cd with a matrix screensaver as wallpaper etc.
  3. In Flanders Fields By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918) Canadian Army IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow Between the crosses row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flander
  4. I like it and resized it is still pretty good. Thanks for shareing, some people love putting things down though.
  5. I installed both the "Big Dady" and "Mini me" versions of this .93 release and I am blown away by both. The big dady issue is a full blown version while the minime version is a minimal install with a bare kde desktop even firefox is omited. PCLinuxOS has a Mandriva connection and uses some of mandrivas/mandrakes configuration tools, but the similarities stop dead there. Texstar, the creator of the PCLinuxOS project has configured everything in the OS from the kernel up. Menus, icons, cursors and software selection are unique, as is the useage of apt, synaptic and Texstar's own cach of package
  6. Now this is realy cool, and another reason why the folks at mandriva and pclinux are winning the first place in my heart. With this app (available currently only for pclinux and mandriva) you can create a live/install cd of your own system containing your favorite apps, home directory, settings, everything. And you can reuse it has an install cd for backuo or simply a portable system. There is also the option to create simply a restoration cd. Yes this has been possible with knoppix and others, but it involves a bit of hoop jumping to do, with this app and distro you can do it with just on
  7. Things will look much better with kde, and the kde compositing feature inabled, for true transparency and not needing to install anything.
  8. Monty SS T top she will be 21 years old next month. Taking her out of the garage this spring. All origional.
  9. I have tried just about everything there is and brought it back to the place I bought it from. Even Apple's unit for connecting your ipod to your stereo or home theater lacked in one very important respect. The ability to use the menu feature and access all your tunes from the comfort of your sofa. This is no mindless brand plug, I am sure there are many who would want this ability. Then I tried the DLO HomeDock Deluxe, I can tell you it rocks. And not only does it have the best onscreen menu feature for accessing your music-artest-playlist etc. But has far has I can see it is the only device
  10. Lol I always mess with what I don't understand, thats how you learn. Lol.
  11. It is ment to be a joke, novelty, conversation thing. Oh well some people never get it. Thanks for the link, "goes to the download page".
  12. A good free app for icon changeing and management is "activeicons" http://www.cursorarts.com/ca_ai_d.html Has far has i know it is "free ware" though the site also has lots of shareware. I used to use this app all the time until i stated useing icon packager. the best feature is of course globaling changing all folder icons to the same icon. Screenie
