i installed style XP but everytime i reboot the style goes to windows classic so i have to reapply the theme. i used to have flayakite installed but i unistalled it. have i missed a setting?

i've just started with this customizing malarky so here goes: Which do you guys prefer? also i've noticed a lot of you guys with new icons, is there anyway to install these icons without going through them manually? what software do you guys use and can anyone recomend some icon sets for my desktops?
