It seems to me that many of the best websites out there are designed using macs. I'm a little unsure if this is because they are a better tool for creating webpages or if it is simply because the average Mac user has more artisting and creative ability. Just wandering your thoughts...

What program do you use the create websites?
Do you use CSS, PHP, XML, HTML, etc...?

I use xhtml strict and css on the little designing I do. I just code it in a plain text editor.

Good web design has nothing to do with the computer you use.

EDIT: Oh, and I use linux, where all the smart ones are. ;)

its something in the ppc chip itself, ibm calls it the "amplfy artistry of user circutry" Its one of the most novel things apple has ever released. What it does is take the natraul artistic tallent each person have, and through tiny conectors in the apple pro mouse, it sends signals to your brain amplyfying your artistic tallent.

Same exact tools, photoshop and a text editor.... btw all what best web pages were designed on a mac?

But then us poor muppets who use IE don't get it displayed properly half the time!
XHTML transitional please!

My goodness! I just realised... I'm holding back the pace of web page development by using IE! Quick! Someone get me a standards-compliant browser!

Sorry, Contra, who is it you turn to when you're stuck with XHTML and CSS again? ;)

All done in Textpad or Visual Studio.Net's text editor, I might add ^_^

I use php, cause i use so many scripts (themes and now playing etc)

maybe the computer doesnt change the person but microsoft created the xp flag on a mac, just goes to show

i think complex graphics are easier on a mac.

Is there any difference in developing on a PC and Mac when it comes to any web design?!?

Nope... text is text, and macromeida products are the same, as is photoshop; as an example.

I think the reason alot of the more well-off designers have Macs is because they probubly enjoy the stylish look of the Macs (and OS X) over ugly PC boxes and Windows (OR Linux of course! ;)).

I use adobe GoLive for Mac... my skills with it are limited I admit... It does things I have yet to figure out... and most likely never will.

It's not the tools that make the artist. In my opinion the reason why we see a lot more mediocre or worse pages coming from PC users is that there generally is more PC users than Mac users as in, everyone and their grandma.

Simply having or using a Mac on a daily basis doesn't make you a better artist. The College I'm going to school to to get my graphic design degree has a lot of Mac's but I find that the difficulty level on using Photoshop or such programs isn't any more or less than using them on the PC.

I have seen quite a bit of bad artwork coming from Mac users as well as good work. It's kind of like handing someone a better pencil, it doesn't automatically make them a better artist but it sure doesn't hurt. Sometimes though it is sort of just a waste of money to spend so much money on a tool if the person isn't serious about what they want to do with it.

It has been my opinion that it shouldn't matter what you are using as long as the end results are of the highest quality that you can put into them. So picking either a Mac or PC should boil down to what you prefer in your user experience rather than thinking that having either will magically make you the uber-artist.

It is however good to try out several different platforms because you never know if you might like one over another. I myself have tried many. I'll plan on sometime owning a Mac, because face it.. it's too tempting not to. But I will be keeping a PC around at least for the games I have which have no Mac versions. ;)
