I use Dreamweaver MX 04 and Photoshop CS generally.
Notepad is also very useful for CSS editing.
Illustrator CS and Freehand MXa is used for creating great web graphics.
I use Flash for creating interactivity beyond X/HTML.
DHTML menu creator programs (like
Sothink's) are useful if you want to create fast java-based nav systems.
I agree with Stevie BM. Coders and designers alike have to think about SCAP. Learn it, live it just gotta love it. Btw, SCAP is short for Separate Content And Presentation. Enough said.

Well I started out with Notepad, then FrontPage which I ditched, then Dreamweaver...graphics tools...Photoshop7(ImageReady), some Flash...though I'm still trying to get my head around action scripts...and a couple of 3D apps.
Nerdy nerd nerd or what!!??
Well...you did ask!

Personally, o0o The DEEJ o0o, I found that the whole Studio MX 2004 works really great, but during some specific tasks (such as even OPENING the application), you see how heavy the whole Studio MX 2004 has got.
Every single thing you've mentioned is a welcome feature, I enjoy those too, but the point is, do you think that's "fair" to even have to buy Studio MX 2004? They are mere updates, not even that, they are just "addons"...
I'm a Macromedia Fangirl, but I can still notice what's fair and what's not...

I think it'd be interesting to see not only who uses what tools, but what their websites are
Im not gonna take some suggestion from someone that uses photoshop cs, dreamweaver, whatever if their websites look like the usual geocities site :cringe:
Heh, I don't think I'd be a professional/semi-professional web designer if I couldn't design.....

Such is the life of a software consumer. It's unfortunate, but it's the nature of the game. Macromedia, Adobe, Microsoft, Apple....the list goes on....they all do it.
caveat emptor.

I've posted in here before, but I thought a little clarification was necessary...
I write applications to let people create content for websites without knowing anything about the web (only for use internally to the company for whom I work).
@o0o The DEEJ o0o: This is why I was asking about your experience with CMS in some other thread...
Sites that the system I work on will be managing, as of about a month's time:

[Probably some more, but I got bored]
I was also one of the key members in the development of our corporate intranet,
one of the 10 best intranets in the world of 2003.

I'm using Macromedia Flash for animated websites (more fun than boring static ones - although a bit slow though

)
My hommie:

It can be combined with XML, PHP and MySQL database at the end. Very useful tool!
