Tested on Vista Basic notebook, XP Home netbook
Reported to work Windows 7
Should work any .NET capable system

Greetings Aqua-Soft community. First it's a great honor to post in such noble place - where many great software titles created their legends, many Users found Their style and inspiration. Secondly, it's shame on me that I didn't post here earlier - especially as You did mention on NV before, very impolite of me. Thence fixing my mistake, I'm pleased to introduce to You - this time personally - latest NV 10.2 - yes it's 2 versions higher than one reviewed here before. An amazing software - which brilliancy was discovered by many people all around the world - both normal Users and technological experts, trying to proudly living to it's tittle: "one of the best customization programs" or other praising which clearly is not to be spoken in honor of compared great software.

Basically it offers:
  • Windows effects, inbuilt complex applications - like those You can mostly find separately as some unknown whatever, but inside one solid package under 1 mb of size, great core and updated very often. (usually few times a month, or even more often if there is some brilliant idea)
  • Window border theming - with very simple theming format: one image - without any special files etc. As NV always believed in simplicity of solutions creating, installing, distributing of those are super easy for everyone. Moreover thanks to Nimi Blur 3.0 technology inside borders can be blurred - in tests(my computer was really happy, its fans too) - without noticeable loss of resources. All that cause NV has brilliant CPU architecture and advanced graphic library handling all those tasks.
  • repository system - allowing to install and manage 3rd part customization tools, wallpapers, system themes, native NV themes etc.

Moreover those can be automatically updated, as well as - You can post normal link into repository system, and data collector will analyse almost any given web adress for repositories capable media. If it will be zip package, during installation it will autoadapt to it's content.
  • Manage 3rd part customization software - NV can manage run(work like launcher) of software installed via repositories. In theory - no more fighting with autostart, or scavenger hunt to find application when You recalled it(just use quick search in NV)
  • Desktop scripting - with Nimi Bastet You can script Your desktop, to display any desired webpage, HTML content and interact through NV frontend with system.

Currently NV offers 49 effects, with some of them enlisted below:
Window border theming
with transparent borders support and blur

Hi, first of all, I would like to thank you for your hard work with this project, and, Im very impressed with many of it's features. Also, I love some "Windows 7" features that your app includes :P

I've been using your app & I'm having some problems with the following effects.

Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1-.NET 2.0 Installed-2 GB RAM- INTEL CELERON INSIDE.

Issues:
Jelly Windows doesn't work
Taskbar reflection doesn't reflect windows
Can't use the "Toss" effect.
Snow Effect doesn't work with XWindows Dock Running

I try to add many various effects, besides of what I know can be achieved - I'm still very time limited, so I often had to make trade of over what to add, and how detailed. However, those still keep rather high quality.

And personally I still love data collector from features and picture board from effects - in next release there will be few related to this one.

Problem is just opening for new possibilities. ;D Though I would prefer not having any problems at all - I see posibilities without them ;P

.NET is very tricky - there are at last 5 versions as far as I remember, some additional control packages as well.

Seems like You don't have .NET 3.5 installed - it's required for GPU accelerated effects.

Are You using any window layering software? Also some effects - in theory - could be not incompatybile with each other (mostly thinking of those related to transparency) It's also possible that this effect would apply only to newly created windows.

on the final version of Windows 7.

Windows 7 Enterprise Release Version

Your application makes the explorer cease to be seen, it doesn't have any affect desired.

Rumor Crashed. If you want a version number of my Windows let me know....

I like nice sounding names. ;P Like ultimate, professional etc. - those add meaning to everything.

As mentioned before reported to work - not tested directly by me on W7. Always ensure to have all components up to date. Fighting on system which is still kind of mystery without proper motivation aren't my thing. Firstly I can't afford it, secondly so far everyone switches to older systems from what I've heard.

Did You ever wonder why there is additional "XP compatybility mode" - anyway try installing latest .NET, maybe there are already some patches. Not to mention always run with administrator rights.

Cheers,
Sami

Your welcome, personally I kinda know all the joy & frustration while developing an app. :)

I installed .NET 3.5 & it worked! Now I can enjoy the "jell-o effect" on my windows :)

I still have issues with this feature :/ Im using using a visual style, no windows blind or any other software. But, this feature is only or "AERO MODE" or it can work in "BASIC MODE"

PS: Thanks again for this cheerful app :)

Yup - I still wonder how many people will see beauty of this solution: basic requires .NET 2.0, more advanced 3.5 :D

DWM thumbnails support is planned for next release (10.3) - I've already had code but couldn't try it so far as it didn't work with my Vista Basic.

My pleasure - but I really hate those made by copycats, one tries to do something professionally and that's how one ends. Heh but it will look well in my CV :P
