Is it possible to use VISTA with 512MB RAM if I disable most of the features?

No, I use Intel V8 Eight-Core Platform with 16 GB RAM, and Vista Ultimate x64... and I think that this RAM is not enough !!

Short Answer: No.

Long Answer: Even if you could, which you can't, you wouldn't want to. It's sluggish with 2GB of RAM. It would be downright glacial with 512MB.

Nop. You must have at least 1GB of RAM in your PC, that's a requirement from Vista.

YES... Vista Home Basic. Im using it currently. It only have 512Mb Ram. Speed is alright, but definitely not for gaming. Office 2007 is also not advisable.

I think no. You should use 2GB for that.

I dont think so that you are able to run vista with 512MB of RAM. You might have been running Home Basic Edition because only this version can be run on 512 RAM. Otherwise Home Premium / Business / Ultimate versions require at least 1GB of RAM.
I would even recommend 1GB for Home Basic edition for it smooth running.

It will not work for you at all, I have 4 GB Ram and it is just working fine.
I can;t believe it is possible to run it at 512 MB Ram, and the minimum Requirement is 1 GB, which I guarantee you will be slow too.

Windows Vista Home can be installed with 512 Ram. It is not exactly the case that Vista can not be run with 512MB RAM

I would most definitely get a minimun of 1gb of memory for Vista. 2gb would be even better. I personally do not understand why any reputable company would sell a computer with Vista as the OS and only 512mb of memory.

I think 2 GB RAM is quite sufficient for running Windows Vista...I think Davordg is just exaggerating things.
