looks interesting, is this still being actively developed? Does the author have a website or a forum where one could follow development?

By the way, the deviantart link points to version 0.2 rather than 0.3, but since the deviantart link is listed under the 0.2 section, I guess it makes sense.

Good news Komalo, I'm quite interested to see how this app matures. You're off to a great start so far; I look forward to your next iterative release!

regarding a name for your app, why not incorporate your name, Kamal, in it somehow?

Thanks , actually it's Mohamed Kamal :)
i don't know i don't think i can find a way to incorporate it  , I've always admired
the "WindowBlinds" name  , it is very professional and clear and it also shows
the way the program works so i hope i can find a professional name too

hmm.. the name: WindowBlinds is meant to be considered a play on words, Windows (MS) being 'dressed' to provide cover from within/without, etc.

here is an excerpt of a definition for Window Blinds:

Quote

Window blinds reduce the heat from sunlight. Ancient Egyptian pharaohs had blinds made of reeds. The most inexpensive blinds in the 1800’s were home-made roller shades, made of cloth.

..another variation of such a play on words could be: 'Windowshades.' What's nice about this is that there are a few word plays in there: as windows+hades could mean greek god of the windows underworld ;) and Windows+shades' would mean shading for Windows. I didn't look to see if anyone's taken that name though.. maybe winshade, or windowshroud, etc.

Taken :( , damn is there's any name that still available in this world
i am just pissed of that winskin.com site , no at least an email to contact
them, the website is just paused for ever, i mean the name is just perfect
and i've already before 0.1 made the logos then i find out and had to change it to BorderSkin

i don't get it, you are talking about a leopard skin
for border skin or about if it will work with a leopard
windows visual style (it will work with any visual style)

Since i don't want to spend a week trying to find a name for the application rather than release it, here's what has been suggested :
Metallica Skin (MS) , Fraero (free aero) , Quiro (quick aero) , Aevo , GlassXP , Metallica Skin (MS) , Glass XP
Aero XP , XP-skin , Apptastic , PeanutSkin , TPWD (The Perfect Window Manger) , TUWD (The Ultimate Window Manger) , Diamond-XP , Glowy , GLOW (Glass Light On Windows) , WinBlur , WinDecorations , WinDecor , WinDecorSkin , SkinDecorations , SkinDecor , SkinFrame , WindowSkin , WinGBK (Windows Glass Blur) , WinBlurSkin , BlurSkin , WinBlurXP , BlurXP , Kskinner(Komalo skinner) , SkinWinnerK (komalo winner skin)
i came up with WinComposite and WinCrystal

And to tell you the truth, i am a little on "WinCrystal" side , so i am thinking about it as the name, if any one saw one of the other names will be more suitable
please suggest it now

Like you said, maybe it would be best not to rush the name, rather, allow yourself some time and the input of others by keeping a/the temporary name through versions 0.x, until your 1.0 release where you could then announce it with proper fanfare. You could even just keep it as: BetaSkin (thus your Bs Logo would remain applicable for the interim.)

Also, this would then free you up to release the next version already ;)

@ Kittierocker, I'm not 100% sure on this but I think this app can use existing TrueTransparency skins, which means if you can find a good OSX skin, it's just a matter of loading(?) it into BorderSkin. Let us know if you find a good working skin; it'd be nice to have a blur-flavored OSX skin ;)

@firecracker6, I've tried with several TT skins, unfortunately, I couldn't get working left-sided trafficlights. Actually, any of TT skins I've found has some faults (something does not look very good or does not work etc.). I've slightly modded one of them and it works quite good with TT (attached below). But with Bs it would be possible to have the shadow also. Maybe someone can solve the problem of the trafficlights. Anyway,
@komalo, good job, mabrook!

TT Skin convertor still have some issues that will be fixed in 0.3, but since someone asked for it, i will provide a fully converted OSX skin with the next version (like "Vista Pack Colors" )

@Kamil thanks :), allah ye barek feek !
