I tried finding some way to do this but no dice.

Is there some way to get that selection rectangle/box like you get on the desktop for AveDesk and make shortcuts respond to it? The only other option for desktop icon replacement is IconX and...sad face.

What do you mean exactly? Like customize the selection box?

I hid all my desktop icons and want to use AveDesk to replace them. Is there a way to get the selection box for AveDesk?

Oh I see what you mean. No that won't work. You'll have to manually drag icons one by one.
