Stacks Docklet 2.0

I'm already talking with Chris n' Soft (author of StandaloneStack) for the new version, based on Stacks Library (Stacks Docklet 2.0 uses it) (I wrote both the docklet and the library). Stay tuned.
@jmbattle2:
I would indeed write a separate docklet for this. Fortunately enough for you, this is easy now because of Stacks Library.
@Smaky:
This is a problem of File2Go. If the problem persists I'll inform them. Thanks.

Gracias por el dato, lo acabo de solucionar. Estará disponible en la siguiente pre-beta.
Translation:
He tells me the config dialog shows partially outside when dock is set to top side of screen.
I tell him to provide a short translation in english for his posts (just forum rules).
The bug has been fixed and fix will be available in next pre-beta release.

It may be useful repeating this info at the first post, as I believe this condition still applies (although I haven't tested it again):

Reflective mode is always there, I forgot to disable the code before publishing, sorry.
Matonga thank you for the update, for me the reflective mode is one of the coolest things in this new version... please dont remove it. maybe just add the toggle option to turn it on and of to accommodate the one that dont like it? -sorry i know you mention that all suggestion have to be made after the beta release- but please dont kill the reflective mode

I'm sorry but I have to decide betweeen reflective and non-reflective.
So I'll compile reflective for myself and publish non-reflective for everyone.
Just kidding! Hahaha, it will come with non-reflective by default, and you'll be able to change it through TweakStacks (program included with Stacks which will be available at beta).

Will we get fadeout reflections?

Warning: this is a pre-beta release. It may contain missing options / missing features / errors / memory leaks / etc... Bug reports will be taken into account as long as they aren't RocketDock/RkLauncher/bad-shortcut-overlay-removal bugs. Feature requests will be silently ignored until beta release.
Version 2009-02-16: download from File2Go
Enjoy.
great to see a new version of this. looks slick with the mirroring. running on Vista 64bit using latest OD (1.9 535u). does not work at top of screen. I can add stack icon but when I choose properties, the property window moves off screen (towards top) and I can't move it at all (I can see the edge of it). I can close it from the vista menu bar. when I move the dock to the bottom it works fine. I cannot change the name of the stack and it doesn't take the name of the folder I point it to. I guess this will be available in future releases. My links are nested in a folder on the desktop. Only a few links are shown with icons, most of them are not and show as default app icon. when I go into the folder with the icons on the desktop they all show fine. I reapplied an icon to one of the links but it still doesn't show in the stack. I restarted with no luck. Looking forward to updates.
thank you

Yeah, icon extraction is not working fine, it seems LoadImage() doesn't handle 256x256 icons. If someone knows what to do it would be really helpful to me.

I hvae tested the 2.0. It seems smooth. But as far as the functionality is concerned, the pre-beta has catched up with the 1.x. Biggest problem is that 2.0 doesn't work if the dock is at the screen top, and the config dialog doesn't appear either. The user set icon will change back into the default one if you click on the docklet. And the its name can only be changed in the current theme file.
Coding is tough. But Matonga has done it quite well!!!
Big thanks!

First of all, let me tell you how great your Docklet is. I've been looking for something like this for a long time and I simply love it! Keep up your great work!
As for a feature request, this probably isn't the easiest thing to do, but i think you should consider replacing the current shortcut system for a proper "launcher" system, just as those used by the dock bars.
This would allow users of your Docklet to set custom icons for each launcher, just as they do for standard launchers inside the dock. I know there's a possibility to change a shortcut icon, but it must be in .ico format and in some shortcuts you can't even change the icon at all.
Thanks!

I have another query...
I have unchecked the 'Show Control Panel in My Computer' option in Folder Options, and ensured that the 'HideMyComputerIcons' registry key for {21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} is also set to 1, thus preventing the icon from appearing in 'My Computer' Explorer windows. However, when assigning 'My Computer' to the Stacks Docklet folder I notice that the 'Control Panel' icon is still visible. May I please ask if it would be possible for a future version to correctly adhere to the registry setting, thus hiding the 'Control Panel' icon?
Here is a screenshot to illustrate (please disregard the jaggy icons for the time being - I haven't gotten around to ResHack-ing shell.dll - indeed, I wonder if an alternative, more flexible option exists?)

On a separate note, when TweakStacks is eventually released, may I ask if the settings will apply globally to all stacks, or whether each stack will be able to have its own specific settings?
Finally, may I recommend that you use the Rocket Dock/Object Dock API for the 'Change Icon' option, instead of the generic Explorer file chooser.
Keep up the great work!
Cheers,
James
