But:
Small icon (16x16) look not good, maybe need to simplify it.
32x32 looks better, but I think, that need to delete dock from it.

Hi, new update: now it also previews 2D skins.

Edit: I forgot to mention preview now is drawn with bilinear (panels) and highest (icons) interpolation quality.

I don't know what to scale the indicator with. I will try by trial & error later.

Break.png is being scaled, though I dunno I'm doing it correctly or not.

I don't have time to perfect the app's icon. It's up to Denis7OO or someone else having enough time to do it. Indeed if you have some old copy of the app, look at the original icon (which was drawn by me... and it was terrible).

I dunno but I can't save a New skin that I mde or also a modified one...the SAVE btton is always disabled...

Using Denis700's PNG I've created an icon (.ico) 16x16 up to 256x256/Vista. Warning: it contains all possible sizes, so it's not that small... (324KB)

@matonga: you can try using the bounding rectangle from the bottom of the dock to the top of icon region; I think this is the right reference...

I have the same problem, I'm on Vista 32 bit and I have tried doing many things I just can't get to save my skin.

Ya había pensado en esto. Lamentablemente se me ocurren solo dos alternativas:

1. Tener varias versiones de XSkinMaker.exe y probar con cada una de ellas hasta dar con la correcta.

2. Si el skin no es válido al menos extraer las imágenes (.png) a fuerza bruta.

Probablemente implementaré la segunda.

Lo mejor sería que Bobah imlementara en XSkinMaker.exe /u la posibilidad de decompilar skins de versiones anteriores.

I already thought about it. I can only think about two possible ways:

1. To have many versions of XSkinMaker.exe (one for each past version of the dock) and try each one until being able to open the skin.

2. When the skin is not valid, try to at least extract .png files the hard way.

I'll probably implement the second one.

The best alternative would be to have Bobah implement XSkinMaker.exe /u in such way that it can decompile skins from previous versions.

Tiene mucha razón. En realidad esta es la mejor opción.
De hecho sería más util en caso de que hayan cambios en el "Config.txt" de las nuevas versiones.

It sorta works with 5.4 but the new pngs (reflection masks, stack borders) aren't being extracted. All Matonga has to do is also extract the new pngs

Hi Matonga, didn't really work.. hm. maybe you should re-upload the 5.4 version? or did I do somthing wrong?
(the editor worked, but 5.4 failed to recognize the newly created skin)

Same problem over here! Everything works fine apart from actually applying the skin, XWD doesn't recognize it at all.

Ok, I've tried it and it works fine here, so... ???

- Are you sure you're using XWD 5.4?

- Did you put all images in, including grid borders and reflection masks?

- Did you place XWDSkinEditor.exe into C:Program FilesXWindows DockTools? (or wherever XSkinMaker.exe is, also take into account for XWD 5.4 the editor uses Default.smxd instead of Skin.smxd for new skins)

Other than that, I've no idea why is it not working for you.
