Hmm, I found that the label is hidden... It's not because of the font, because the label does not show with other fonts either. I have found that the label does show for a split second if I use an effect for the icon like the magnification. If I then click on the icon the label shows until I remove my mouse from the icon. Does anyone know what to do?
I suggest you start from the beginning and get everything working properly - in case you have missed something..
1) Open Desklets Control Panel
2) Select: Desklets> Add Desklet> PidlShortcut. Add Item - You will see a box called PidlShortcut in the Desklets Control Panel
3) Double click the Pidlshortcut - it opens the Desklet Properties
4) Looking at the menubar start with "Appearance"
If you are making your C: Drive the first desklet, type in the NAME (not the letter - ie "C") in the Caption block
Position and Size: X=50, Y=33, Width=50, Height=50
Appearance: Alpha= 255, Rotation= 0, Style= Desktop Icon, Effect= Selection Box
5) Label:
Type=Regular Label
Caption: Font=Lucida Grande/Bold/12. Shadow is CHECKED / Sublabel is CHECKED Font=Verdana/Bold/9. Shadow is CHECKED
6) Advanced: - Leave as default
7) Label Format:
Sublabel=%t / %f free
8) Icon:
Use Custom Images - select your chosen png icon
9) Shortcut:
Path=C:
10) APPLY
You can position the icon anywhere you like on your screen by dragging it into position. When you are satisfied, you can right click the icon and at the bottom of the drop-down list you will see "Lock Position". CHECK this option and the icon will remain locked until you unlock it and move it again.
If you want more icons. Right Click the icon and select "Duplicate Desklet" and press "OK". To change the drive, open the preferences as described above and change the shortcut drive to eg. D:. You will also need to give it a new name as described in 4) above
