thats a minor bug i found out myself so no need to worry i will put it right

OR

u r trying to run it as another user
just run the installer in the user u want to use DExposE2 on
cause currently DExposE2 supports one user per machine

that will surely solve this!

Hi ,

check out the new screenshot of DExposE-d windows

as u can see the major change is:-

Taskbar,sidebars,docks are shown in exposed mode
So basically it is the windows which get moved about without
disturbing anything else.
No problems with styler toolbar or anything as u can see.

Also no overlay over the wallpaper is used in current
version. Yes I decided to remove that. Will be customizable
when I do a settings dialogue.

Also as suggested by firecracker6 a few posts back,
I am giving the control to the F9 key also to enter exposed mode

I will be releasing the new version in few days.
Any suggestions to change or add anything ?

and also I have decided to release future developments here only !

i am happy there are no major bug reports till now!

i have a request, though. i think an exclusion list would be very useful. At least in my os there are some white "phantom" windows while being in expose mode which are quite annoying.

@Devrexster, could you release the first version but with some features of the newer ones, like the removal of that overlay thingy and fixing the way it resizes windows? A bugfix but no frills added.

Actually it was soooooo simple that it is difficult. And it was not a overlay in the first version
but it actually "cleared up" the monitor and then restored it. So

Exception list feature was actually already there IN IT ,from the first and will be customizable when i do a settings exe (Yes i plan to do a separate exe that way it would be easy!)
It is through a exception list in the program that it steers clear of docks,sidebars,Shell_traywnd etc.

yes , i know about the multimonitor problem. But it is only in customized desktop environments
( like with windowblinds etc.) I am working towards it and need to know certain implementation details of popular apps to ensure no conflicts
can u exactly tell me the bug. I had no other major bug reports till now (which is absurd )
so plz tell me ANY-bloody-bug u find plzzz!

Hi,

It seems there are some problems installing the latest build (12.03) on Vista. I run the .exe downloaded from your site, 2 popup windows appear: one if I really wanna run this app 'couse the source cannot be verified, than the second is asking me if I allow the app to run (the installer that is) - that's UAC or whatever it's called, and apparently installation goes on pretty fine. But in the end, DExposE doesn't start, even more the app (DExposE) is nowhere to be found, the only thing in Program Files bla bla (the folder where the app should be) is the uninstaller.

I even tried to install it as administrator. Same result.

Any solutions for that?

Just realized a flaw in my installation program !

Ok , xp compatibility mode will do the trick. It's running.

Now there are a couple of issues:

1. I press F9 to expose all running apps windows, but when I move the mouse over the windows the magnification it's not so fluid - I mean it's working but the movement is a little choppy. It's like the magnification is done in 3-4 small steps. Same thing happen with all the docks when I hover the mouse over (and I've tried 'em all!). I heard this is an ATI vcards issue. Maybe that's the case here too. Perhaps I should drop ATI and go for nVidia once and for all.

2. Look at the PowerPoint window in the attachment. It seems that the capture of the window include other windows that were in front of it.

One more thing: it's not so much an issue merely a suggestion: the background when in action is whitish and it's not looking so good as if it was black (or fading to...). See attachment also.

Other than that it's a great app. Thanks!

About the wrong screencapture of the ppt window, just refresh DExposE2 it will do good.

and about not so fluid animations, I have already achieved very "WOW" motions BUT which need
a 2 MB directx dll file to be included in the installation which i think some people wont be cool with
i am trying my best only thing is not getting enough time these days

Ok. Did achieve more features (dont know where it will stop )

1> Hiding all open windows in a flash by pressing F11 like in topdesk

2> Minimize & restore windows from exposed mode directly

3> tested on multimonitors.Works perfectly till now

will release the version at my site in a week (the settings window may not be a part just now!)

Any suggestions u have , post here!

and yes as suggested by belgrano, the background will be blackish

Include that directx dll. It was the choppy animations that turned me off the newer versions (I'm still using the first release, )

Changes are:

1> Animations are very smoother now. U will like the focusing and defocusing bit the most!

2> Removed all reported screenshoting problems. Uses double layered logic ( both screencapture
and printwindow ) to correctly screenshot windows.

3> NEW FEATURE: Press F11 to immediately hide all open windows. Again press F11 to get them
back.

4> Minimize and restore windows from within exposed state.

5> Fixed installer problems on Vista.

6> Multimonitor tested on xpsp2.

How to use the new features has been outlined in the readme that comes up after installation!

Any more suggestions anyone ?! Coz I am nearing the final release (with the settings exe and all customizing options) !

Didnt need the dll . Animations are much much smoother. Try it out !

recently quite a few people said to me that it doesnt use more than 20 mb ... ?!

during expossing on my comp it doesnt use more than 25 mb! Perhaps its a problem there will be optimizations ofcourse !

BTW did u notice that u can type in programmes that have the cursor blinking in them in exposed mode itself ! HEHE ! I am typing this while in exposed mode programmed this function into it but never mentioned coz it might not be quite smooth on all comps !!

Ok, downloaded the newest version, and everything is smooth: except for the dual monitors!

I run dual 24 inches, when I hit the f9 key the windows do shrink (expose) in one monitor, but on the other monitor where the windows were, the monitor goes bonkers and the windows blink on and off. They just keep flashing.

I hope this can be fixed, because this is the only expose program that runs this smoothly on my system. Also, can there be an ability to assign our own hotkeys?

Problem is when i run dual monitors on xpsp2 it works perfectly.
Can u provide a screenshot of the problem ? or is it that nothing is visible ?!!? Maybe some hooking procedures need to be redone I'll have to check this shit !!
