Morning all, I've put together a very quick guide on reflecting icons in Photoshop in case anyone (like me) hasn't the foggiest. I just downloaded the latest RK Launcher a few days ago, and I was surprised at how long it took me to find out how to get a proper reflective effect on my icons (without using the Icon Reflector thing).

Nobody seems to have produced an easy-to-follow tutorial for folk like me who haven't a clue, so I've given it a shot. It's not exactly professional, definitely not in-depth, and is probably reiterating the extremely obvious for anyone who uses Photoshop regularly. Still, hopefully it'll be of use to some people.

Good tutorial, the only thing that i would tell you to do different is instead of resizing the icon, i would just make a bigger canvas,, especially when you have a smaller icons.

Haha.. I always wanted to know how to do reflection in Photoshop. This tutorial is incredibly amazing and easy.

Fair enough beef, I just do that so I keep all my icons in a standard size like 256x256. I guess it works just as well either way.

What do u do when the size of the picture varies?

Change the canvas size (Edit>Canvas Size) and make sure you anchor it at the top centre. All you're trying to do is create enough space for the reflection to fit on to the canvas.

By how much? What size should the canvas be? Because I've got various icons from all over the place with different dimensions
