This application is a preview, and will expire on 25 November 2007.

Video wallpaper
Photo Slideshow
Desktop scribbler
Underwater wallpaper

Description
Desktop Effects is an application that ads special effects to your desktop. Forget the boring static wallpaper, but use a dynamic Photo Slideshow to your desktop. Use your desktop to scribble notes on it.
Effects are simple COM plugins, which allow new plugins to be developed quickly in a multitude of languages and environments. Windows Dreamscene, video-as-wallpaper, can easily be made possible writing a small plugin.

It works in decent browsers, such as IE and Opera. I'll update it for people using other, appearantly stupid, browsers.

I'm actually using Firefox, which IS a decent not stupid browser, and when I click a preview link it says not found. and then when i switched the to / it worked...

Edit: Works in IE... I guess this is just a firefox problem since it doesn't even show the preview in the first place :slant:

off topic:
can you fix pldi shortcut desklet to work with vista? and maybe add some features like on hover/select place an underlay/overlay on the icon

your a genius, you should make the files smaller though so that those with bad video cards can use this and continue to go on with their work

its doesnt works for me, vista ultimate spanish language pack with aero enabled, i cant see the desktop fx part when i right click the desktop.. i have the dx nov2007 and visualstudio thing..

how i can run it in manually mode?

It doesn't work here aswell (german Vista Home Premium Version) - the entry does not show up in the context menu. A pity, this looks very cool...

awesome program, tried the trial, and just purchased the full version...wondering if any updates that are done to it, might be free?
anyways for anyone who hasn't tried this, do it, it's way worth it!
(btw: running this on Vista Home Premium-Core Duo 1.82 - 3 G of Ram)
